LEYO is breathing new life into the traditional Filipino harana through his six-track EP titled Akda sa Pag-alala, released via Sony Music Entertainment. This Filipino singer-songwriter is turning heads by blending traditional romance with contemporary flair in his latest musical release.

Reimagining the Harana Tradition

By fusing classic OPM influences with acoustic pop, R&B, and understated jazz, the artist crafts an intimate collection inspired by the various ways people experience, remember, and rediscover love. He explains,

Every song on this EP was written using just an acoustic guitar. I made the harana tradition my own by blending it with the music I grew up listening to, combining classic OPM influences with Western pop and R&B elements.”

Furthermore, the tracks on the EP explore romance across a wide spectrum of tones and relatable emotions.

Exploring Universality of Romance

For instance, songs like “Pritong Itlog” highlight everyday affection, whereas “Kapag Umuulan” captures profound yearning. Meanwhile, tracks such as “Torpe,” “Pwede Ko Bang Itanong,” “Kung Magugunaw ang Mundo,” and “Kumusta Ka Sinta” navigate unspoken feelings, devotion, and nostalgia.

Reflecting on this creative process, LEYO shares that this captures his journey as a young man figuring out who he is. And to discover what love truly means.

Bringing the Sound to Life

In addition to his personal songwriting, the EP thrives on the collaborative efforts of notable producers like 2026 Awit Awards winner Brian Lotho and Rain Santana, alongside mixing and mastering engineers Emil Dela Rosa and Hazel Pascua. Highlighting this teamwork, LEYO notes,

Working with Rain Santana and Sir Brian Lotho really unlocked the full potential of these tracks. They brought two distinct approaches: Rain encouraged me to be more playful and think outside the box, while Sir Brian pushed me to be more intentional with every production choice.”

Ultimately, Akda sa Pag-alala serves as a meaningful time capsule of youthful romance and personal growth. Through thoughtful storytelling and melodic sensibilities, LEYO delivers a tender reminder that love is often best remembered through life’s smallest moments.
