Manila, Philippines — To honor the 30th anniversary of Cutterpillow, one of the most celebrated albums in Original Pilipino Music (OPM), Offshore Music has released a Cutterpillow star-studded tribute album featuring some of today’s most exciting Filipino indie artists. This fresh collection reimagines the iconic Eraserheads record with new sounds, styles, and voices.

The original Cutterpillow, released in 1995, cemented the Eraserheads’ place in Filipino music history with hits like “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” “Torpedo,” and “Huwag Mo Nang Itanong.” Now, three decades later, Offshore Music pays tribute by giving these classics a modern spin.

“We didn’t set any parameters,” says Ely Buendia, Offshore Music CEO and Eraserheads frontman. “We told the artists to interpret the songs however they wanted.”

What to Expect from the Cutterpillow Tribute Album

The Cutterpillow star-studded tribute album brings together a diverse mix of genres—from synth-pop to emo, city pop to theatrical rock. Each track offers a fresh take while staying rooted in the emotional core of the original material.

The album includes standout performances like Diego’s Scenes and Ligaya Escueta on an emo-charged “Back2Me”; Elton Clark’s synth-heavy version of “Torpedo”; Carousel Casualties’ alt-rock remake of “Walang Nagbago”; and Pinkmen’s harmony-rich “Ang Huling El Bimbo.” Pixie Labrador brings a folk-influenced vibe to “Fill Her,” while ALYSON adds city pop smoothness to “Huwag Mo Nang Itanong.” ena mori delivers a theatrical reinvention of “Cutterpillow,” and Amateurish and Stef Aranas team up for a dynamic remake of “Superproxy,” the album’s focus track.

“Each artist had complete freedom,” says Audry Dionisio, Offshore Music’s General Manager. “We didn’t want copies of the originals—we wanted reinventions.”
