Beetlejuice The Musical Singapore is set to unleash its chaotic charm in January 2026 at the Esplanade Theatre.
With outrageous comedy, wild stagecraft, and a demon in stripes leading the way, the Broadway spectacle is coming to Southeast Asia in full supernatural force.
This eight-time Tony-nominated production brings everything fans loved about the original film—plus a lot more mayhem. The show will star Andy Karl, one of Broadway’s most acclaimed performers, in the iconic role of Beetlejuice.
“He’s wildly inappropriate, totally unhinged, and yet somehow… weirdly lovable?” Andy Karl shares. “Hang on to your sandworms—it’s showtime!”

A Musical That Lives Loud
Beetlejuice The Musical Singapore is not your typical theatre experience. It’s a high-energy, genre-bending ride through grief, comedy, and chaos—with a whole lot of afterlife in between.
The plot centers on Lydia Deetz, a goth teen obsessed with the dead. After summoning the mischievous Beetlejuice to help scare off her unbearable parents, her world turns upside down. Expect sandworms, seances, and unexpected heart.
The original Broadway creative team returns for the Singapore run. Directed by Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!, Here Lies Love), with music by Eddie Perfect and choreography by Connor Gallagher, the production turns the stage into a haunted playground of light, sound, and surreal spectacle.

From Broadway to the Bay
The show will be staged at the Esplanade Theatre, a venue known for its horseshoe layout and immersive acoustics. It’s the perfect setting for a show that thrives on audience energy and theatrical chaos.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the Singapore debut of this delightfully offbeat production,” says Alice Neo, Assistant Head of Venues at The Esplanade Co Ltd. “It adds a bold, irreverent splash to our 2026 calendar.”
The production is presented by Michael Cassel Group, the same team behind Singapore blockbusters like Hamilton, The Lion King, and & Juliet. For Cassel, this is about pushing boundaries in musical theatre “It’s wickedly funny, visually spectacular—and with Andy Karl donning the iconic suit, it’s going to be unmissable,” he says.
Why It’s Worth the Haunt
What makes Beetlejuice The Musical Singapore more than a spectacle? It’s how it mixes humor with sincerity. Underneath the chaos is a story about grief, family, and the strange ways we deal with loss.
Yes, the jokes land hard. Yes, the visuals stun. But it’s the emotional core that surprises audiences the most. And Beetlejuice himself? He might just be the most relatable ghost in musical history.
Whether you’re a diehard theatre fan or new to Broadway shows, this one’s worth catching—before it disappears.
