Remembering a loved one brings comfort during times of loss.

Reflecting on their values keeps their legacy vibrant and cherished. Below is an expanded look at the life, devotion, and legacy of Veronica Lim Yuyitung.

A Life Rooted in Family and Art

Veronica Lim Yuyitung passed away peacefully in Toronto on July 23, 2026, at the age of 91. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Aparri, Cagayan, Philippines in 1935, she was the ninth of ten children.

Growing up in a large family, her passion for art bloomed early. She pursued Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas, where her talent stood out.

Eventually, her work gained global recognition. She received prestigious awards, held international exhibitions, and became a sought-after portrait artist.

Every painting and sculpture she created stands as a lasting testimony to her care, love, and detail.

Strength and Devotion

Along with her artistic career, Veronica shared a loving 49-year marriage with her late husband, Rizal.

Her creative nature was beautifully balanced by his grounded presence.

During the years of martial law, she showed remarkable resilience. As an independent and outspoken woman, she raised her children while fiercely fighting for Rizal’s release from wrongful imprisonment.

Today, her strength lives on through her children, their spouses, and her thirteen grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

Honoring Her Journey

No immediate service will be held at this time. However, the family plans to gather on the west coast of British Columbia at a later date. They will celebrate her extraordinary life and the many ways she touched those around her.

Her ashes will be scattered across the Pacific Ocean to join Rizal’s. Reunited once again, their spirits can journey freely between the places they called home.

Veronica will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Yet, her story remains one of courage, artistic genius, and devotion.

Her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire her family for generations to come.
