Regional talent is stepping into the national spotlight this year.
Antique native and versatile theater artist Aubrey Savet has reached an exciting milestone, bringing the rich stories and culture of Western Visayas to a much broader stage.
From Local Stage to the National Screen
Hailing from Antique and fluent in Hiligaynon, Aubrey has always dedicated her craft to showcasing her region’s vibrant identity. Recently, she took a major leap into cinema after being selected for the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ competitive Master Series: Acting Workshop for Filipino Talents 2026.
Through this elite program, she is now training alongside some of the country’s most promising screen actors. Moreover, the workshop is guided by industry legends Laurice Guillen, Jose Javier “Direk Joey” Reyes, and Joel Lamangan.

Aubrey’s creative background is as dynamic as it is versatile.
On screen, her credits feature the Bacolod Film Festival 2024 winner “Sa Pwesto ni Pistong” by Vincent Joseph Entuna, “Everyone Knows Every Juan” by Alessandra de Rossi, and the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 awardee “Isang Himala” by Pepe Diokno. Meanwhile, on stage, she remains deeply committed to original Filipino works.
For instance, in the Virgin Labfest production “Ang Bata Kag Ang Ilaga”—written in Hiligaynon, Kinaray-a, and English by Liane Carlo Suelan and directed by Siglo—she blended classic acting with live and shadow puppetry.
In addition to performing, she actively shapes the next generation of artists as the Theater Production Head at the Bataan High School for the Arts.
