Singer-songwriters dwta and Arthur Miguel are back with a brand-new track that showcases their undeniable creative bond. Following the success of “Lihim (Nuarin Sasabihon)” and “Tahan Na,” the duo has officially released their third collaboration, “At Kung Sakali,” via Sony Music Entertainment. This latest single marks a fresh chapter for both artists as they continue to build on their natural musical chemistry.
Writing Together
For the first time, dwta and Arthur Miguel wrote a song together in the same room.
What started as a simple creative exercise quickly grew into a fully realized track. Driven by mutual trust, the song came together in just half a day.
Actually, our past collaborations were both written separately,”
dwta clarifies.
Arthur wrote Lihim (Nuarin Sasabihon), while I wrote Tahan Na. We never really tried writing a song together before, so this time we thought, why not? At first, we were really doing it for fun. We didn’t even have any plans to release it or anything. We just wanted to see what we could come up with, and we were already happy just making something together. But then “At Kung Sakali” happened. I think one of the reasons we keep coming back to working with each other is because of the friendship we built since our first collaboration back in 2023.”
On Love and Uncertainty
Instead of focusing on heartbreak, the new track explores the feelings of being in love. It captures the anxieties of imagining a future with someone, using the imagery of a dollhouse (bahay-bahayan) to show love despite uncertainty. Consequently, it brings a warmer and purer tone to their music.
The Bicol-born singer-songwriter Arthur explains,
At Kung Sakali is also our first collaboration that’s really about being in love. Our first collab was about confessing your feelings, while our second one was more about heartbreak and hope. This time, we’re in our “in-love” era even though we’re both happily single. We’re both actually known for making heartbreak songs, so it was fun to make something that’s warmer and purer this time.”
Executing The Vision to Life
Producer Luke April helped turn their spontaneous ideas into a finished record. He joined the duo on a separate day to guide the production while keeping the track’s organic feel.
Furthermore, excitement around the song was immediate across the entire team.
We did the production on a separate day from the songwriting, and Luke April joined us in producing the song,”
shares dwta.
After we finished writing the song, our team really liked it, so we decided to release it. Luckily, everyone was available and was immediately game for it.”
Ultimately, “At Kung Sakali” stands as a testament to the powerful friendship and artistic synergy between dwta and Arthur Miguel. By stepping out of their usual comfort zones, they have created a warm and genuine piece of music. As a result, fans around the world can now enjoy this exciting new milestone across all major digital music platforms.
