A specific kind of magic happens when you strip away the studio walls, and let music breathe in the open air. In a hidden spot in Wawa Dam, Montalban, Rizal, a movement is continuously uprising. Led by a man named Rhastie, together with a group of creatives that are creating a space for music, crafts, and cause.

That is exactly where ARTHIESLIFESTYLE navigates.

With the tagline “where music meets the wild,” this creative project has quietly carved out a sanctuary for raw acoustic talent, community spirit, and the untamed beauty of nature. Mostly centered around the scenic, rugged landscapes of Rizal, Philippines.

For those who possess the passion for the outdoors and a love for local independent sound fused into a unique lifestyle movement, ARTHIESLIFESTYLE offers a seat for you.

The Backdrop: A Riverside Sanctuary

Imagine leaving the unstoppable heat of Metro Manila. A few hours later, you cross a river by boat and step onto the open, unpaved shores of Sitio Kayrupa Campsite in Rodriguez, Rizal. The hum of industrial life fades, replaced by the steady rush of the water and the rustle of mountain leaves.

This isn’t just a picturesque escape for weary weekend nomads, it is the natural stage for ARTHIESLIFESTYLE. By day, these riverbanks host campers, free-roaming pets, and community outreach programs that support local multi-generational families. But when the sun starts to dip behind the Sierra Madre, the terrain transforms into something completely organic, an outdoor recording studio.

All of this happened because of a man named Rhastie. A visual and traditional artist, musician, and advocate of Sitio Wawa. The man behind ARTHIESLIFESTYLE.

Yung hunger niya to share talent and yung hunger ko na makapagturo, that’s the formula that will push for that common goal.” said Mr. Rolando Campos, an educator at Wawa National High School, and co-advocate of Rhastie.

We want to develop young artists and divert the attention of the locals into something that will be valuable for the community,” he added.

The Sound: Acoustic, Raw, and Real

ARTHIESLIFESTYLE operates without the polished, heavily edited safety net of traditional music videos. Instead, they capture raw live sessions. Known locally as the Baryo Wawa Sessions or Kayrupa Sessions. Featuring independent homegrown artists pouring their hearts out over acoustic guitar covers and some original tunes.

Whether it’s a soulful cover of reggae classics like Katchafire’s Collie Herb Man or Clinton Fearon’s Richman Poorman, or a stripped-back, emotional rendition of contemporary Filipino hits like TJ Monterde’s Palagi and Sugarfree’s Burnout, the music hits differently here.

There are no autotunes or soundproof panels. If an artist hits a high note, it echoes off the mountain walls. If a breeze picks up, you hear the wind rustling through the microphone. It is acoustic storytelling in its purest form.

More Than a Channel: A Deep-Rooted Community

What makes ARTHIESLIFESTYLE resonate so deeply isn’t just the music. It is the underlying message of mindfulness and connection. The project bridges urban volunteers, local creatives, and rural communities.

In our area in Wawa, all we wanted to do is to inspire and continuously give support to our local artists who also want to express themselves with their craft.” said Rhastie, founder of ARTHIESLIFESTYLE.

By showcasing these local spaces, they draw attention to the preservation of local heritage. Simple off-grid living, and the incredible, often unsung musical talent waiting just outside the metro limits.

It’s not about how good or bad your art is, if it tells something about yourself, and you want to share it, that’s art.” said Rhastie.

To create, and to share with the community. Those are my only goals,” he added.

Strumming the final Chord

At its core, ARTHIESLIFESTYLE is a reminder that the best things in life don’t need studio polish, just a space enough to breathe. By pulling music out of the crowded city and letting it echo against the mountains of Rizal, it does more than just showcase independent talent.

It strips away the noise of modern life. Reconnecting guests to nature, to each other, and to the raw, unfiltered truth of a song sung under the open sky.

ARTHIESLIFESTYLE invites its community to slow down, head out, and listen closely. Because out there, where the pavement ends and the melody begins, music doesn’t just sound different, it feels alive.
