OPM OGs made such a banger comeback!
In fact, the legendary Filipino alternative rock band TEETH just dropped their first-ever vinyl pressing for their 1995 self-titled debut album. Consequently, the fan response has been absolutely insane.
Sold out on its very first day!
Win For 90s OPM
Can you believe the limited-edition vinyl officially sold out within a single day?
Naturally, Backspacer Records was thrilled by the overwhelming support. Furthermore, this double-platinum album was freshly remastered by Shinji Tanaka. Ultimately, the high demand proves how much people still love it. As Robert Tuazon, founder of Backspacer Records, shared:
Aside from being fans ourselves of so many OPM artists like Teeth, we have always looked forward to expanding the range of titles we produce and have on our shelves,”
shared Robert Tuazon, founder of Backspacer Records.
Teeth’s debut album is the longest-standing (1995) album we have had the honor of bringing to life.
While we did expect a strong response from the fans for this iconic album, the demand speaks to both the generational impact of this album, and the recognition of physical media as touchstones to the culture then and now.”
Fingers Crossed for a Re-Press
Meanwhile, the band members are just as amazed by the support. After all, they have been away from the spotlight for a long time. Guitarist Jerome Velasco expressed his gratitude, saying:
For our longtime fans, we hope the moment the needle drops feel like a total time machine. And for the new generation hearing these tracks on analog for the first time, we hope they feel all the raw heart, sweat, and unfiltered energy of the ’90s.”
Did you miss out on the stunning gatefold edition?
It features artwork by Nix Puno and rare finds from drummer Mike Dizon’s vault. However, do not lose hope just yet. Dizon revealed they are trying for a re-press:
Selling out in nearly a day after the announcement is an important accomplishment for the group. Reordering is easy, but the tricky part is getting the go signal from the mother label, Warner, to allow us to reprint a small batch more.”
Even more good news is they’re already working on it! The whole team also have hopes to have new stocks available in time for the reunion shows.
Catch The Legacy Tour Live
Additionally, all this vinyl hype perfectly sets the stage for the Year 33: TEETH The Reunion – Legacy Tour. Soon, they will bring their grunge-driven energy to five cities. Specifically, the Manila leg is happening on September 5, 2026. It will take place at the SM North EDSA Skydome starting at 6:00 p.m. Therefore, you should grab your tickets right now via SM Tickets.
