Easy Shakshuka Recipe with Sausage & Eggs

Sausage and eggs have always been a well-loved breakfast item because not only is it easy to cook, it is also delicious, making it a meal that is perfect for the morning rush. It is flavorful and a perfect pair to bread, especially with runny yolks, making breakfast something to look forward to.

The playful combination of hard and soft textures is already amazing, but the addition of tangy tomato sauce makes it even more flavorful, transforming it into a delicious meal to brighten your mornings.

Ingredients:

– Oil, for sautéing
– 3 pcs Sausage
– 1 pc Onion, minced
– 3 cloves Garlic, sliced
– 1 canned Diced Tomato
– 1 tsp Black Pepper
– 2 tsp Sugar
– 1 tsp Dried Basil
– 6 pcs Egg
– Season with salt

Garnish:
– Parsley

Side:
– Sourdough Bread

Procedure:

1. In a pan, heat the oil and sauté the sausages. After sautéing for a while, add the onions and garlic.

2. Prepare the sauce. In a bowl, add the canned diced tomatoes, pepper, and sugar. Mix well, then add it into the pot with the sausages. Make sure to spread it evenly. Add dried basil. Let it simmer.

3. While the sausages are cooking, reheat the sourdough bread. Wet it with water so it becomes crisp before placing it in the oven to heat up.

4. Crack some eggs onto the sausages. Season it with salt. Let it simmer.

5. Leave it to cook until the desired doneness of the eggs.
