Investments aren’t always measured in numbers and balance sheets. Sometimes, the most meaningful returns come from what you cannot see. Solaire Resort Quezon City embodies this principle by looking beyond immediate gains. Through investing heavily in innovation through the power of education and local relationships.
Demonstrating its ongoing dedication to empowering the local community, Solaire Resort Quezon City recently visited Quezon City University (QCU) to reinforce its support for the Solaire Hospitality Academy.
The event brought together key leaders from Solaire Resort Quezon City, QCU, Solaire Cares, and the Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc., alongside local urban farmers. Together, they gathered for a meaningful day focused on celebrating urban agriculture, Filipino cuisine, and hospitality education.

Exploring Urban Agriculture and Sustainable Farming
The visit was led by Solaire Resort Quezon City Chief Operating Officer Damian Quayle and QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza. Accompanied by executives from both organizations. During the event, delegates toured the University’s Center for Urban Agriculture and Innovation to observe QCU’s urban farming initiatives firsthand. Through this walkthrough, guests gained insight into how these efforts contribute to food sustainability across the city.
From Farm to Table: Celebrating Local Ingredients
Following the tour, the day’s activities featured a live culinary demonstration. Led by Manyaman Chef de Cuisine Jeffrey Fong and Sous Chef Arnel Velasquez. Using freshly harvested produce provided by Quezon City’s urban farmers, the chefs crafted traditional Filipino dishes.
Participants subsequently shared a communal meal to celebrate locally grown ingredients and the collective value of supporting homegrown communities. Looking ahead, Solaire Resort Quezon City aims to incorporate the farmers’ produce into a signature dish at Manyaman. Thereby showcasing the quality of local ingredients while creating sustainable economic opportunities for the community.
Expanding the Solaire Hospitality Academy
In addition to highlighting urban agriculture, the gathering served to strengthen the partnership between Solaire Resort Quezon City and QCU. Through the ongoing development of the Solaire Hospitality Academy. Delegation members toured the academy’s future training facilities. In which are currently being prepared as specialized learning spaces to promote hands-on training, critical thinking, and industry-ready skills.

Fulfilling a Vision for Local Employment
Senior Vice President for Talent Management Haresh Chainani also attended the visit and elaborated on the vision behind the academic partnership. During his remarks, Chainani recalled Solaire’s commitment to Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte. A vision regarding the creation of meaningful job opportunities for city residents.
Beyond providing jobs, [it is essential] to equip aspiring hospitality professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to build successful careers in the industry.” said Haresh Chainani, Senior Vice President for Talent Management.
This unified vision ultimately led to the creation of the Solaire Hospitality Academy. Which will welcome its inaugural cohort of students in the near future.
Building a Future-Ready Community
Initially launched in April 2026 through a partnership between Solaire Resort Quezon City and the Quezon City Government, the Solaire Hospitality Academy provides specialized hospitality training for local residents. The academy’s curriculum focuses on four key operational areas. Food and beverage service, culinary arts, housekeeping, and guest services.
By preparing students to meet the operational standards of a world-class integrated resort, the program broadens employment pathways for Quezon City residents. Ultimately, this joint initiative reflects the aligned commitment of Solaire Resort Quezon City.
