Filipino hospitality continues to make its mark on the regional stage as Savoy Hotel Manila takes home two honors at the 2026 World Travel Awards: Asia’s Leading Airport Hotel and Philippines’ Leading Airport Hotel.

A Win Beyond Manila

The recognition marks Savoy Manila’s sixth consecutive win in the Philippine category and its second Asia-level award.

The recognition marks Savoy Manila’s sixth consecutive win in the Philippine category and its second Asia-level award. The hotel first received the Asia title in 2021, further establishing its place among airport hotels in the region.

For Socrates “Sonny” Alvaro, Managing Director of Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts, the recognition also highlights the people and practices behind the guest experience.

“What makes this recognition meaningful is that it puts a spotlight on what is already strong about our hospitality: the destinations we represent, the people behind every stay, and the genuine care Filipinos naturally extend to Guests,” Alvaro said.

Filipino by Design

At the heart of the group’s service philosophy is the Sampaguita Brand of Service.

At the heart of the group’s service philosophy is the Sampaguita Brand of Service, built around four values: Love, Honor, Dignity, and Healing.

These principles guide training, guest touchpoints, service standards, and everyday hotel operations. At the same time, each property is encouraged to reflect the character of its location and community.

For Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts, the challenge lies in maintaining that consistency as the group continues to grow.

“Our responsibility is to keep strengthening the systems, people, and service standards that allow these qualities to be experienced consistently across our hotels, while giving our brands greater visibility across more markets and channels,” Alvaro added.

Growing Across the Philippines

For Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts, the challenge is to maintain that consistency as the group continues to grow.

The Savoy brand currently operates properties in Manila, Boracay, and Mactan, Cebu. Its Philippine footprint will expand further with Savoy Hotel Capital Town in San Fernando, Pampanga, and Savoy Hotel Palawan in San Vicente.

Savoy Hotel Capital Town will feature 374 rooms within Megaworld’s 35.6-hectare Capital Town development. Meanwhile, Savoy Hotel Palawan will join the Paragua Coastown development in San Vicente.

As new properties open, the group aims to carry the same service culture into different destinations while allowing each hotel to create experiences suited to its surroundings.

Hospitality That Grows With the Brand

As new properties open, the group aims to carry the same service culture into different destinations.

Savoy belongs to Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio of 16 hotels across eight brands. The group aims to reach nearly 12,000 hotel rooms by 2032 across key destinations in the Philippines.

For the group, expansion goes beyond adding rooms and properties. It also means continuing to develop its people, strengthen service standards, and bring Filipino hospitality to life in ways that remain relevant to every destination.

With another regional recognition under its belt, Savoy Hotel Manila shows how a distinctly Filipino approach to hospitality can continue to reach guests beyond Philippine shores.
