The grand coronation came alive at the Cultural Center in Malitbog, Bukidnon, on June 27.
Rina Andrea Delos Santos of Ballesteros, Cagayan, dazzled as she captured the Miss Philippines Earth 2026 crown, embodying not just beauty but a vibrant passion for environmental leadership.
After outshining 31 contenders, Delos Santos now takes up the mantle once worn by Joy Barcoma, carrying the nation’s dreams for a fifth Miss Earth crown.
Crucially, her commitment to advocacy is woven into the fabric of her daily life, rather than just being reserved for the spotlight.
A Lifelong Commitment to Sustainable Tourism
Unlike many contestants who discover their advocacy through pageantry, Delos Santos has championed hers from the very beginning. In fact, as a community tour guide in Ballesteros, she regularly breathes life into sustainable tourism, inspiring travelers to cherish and protect nature’s wonders.

Furthermore, during her introductory presentation, she emphasized that responsible tourism is much more than simply highlighting scenic spots, stating:
Guiding with a purpose means protecting the environment, preserving culture, and strengthening communities. It ensures that tourism protects our planet and benefits future generations.”
Consequently, her words echoed the spirit of this year’s Miss Philippines Earth theme, “Love in Action,” proving that advocacy gains its true strength when lived out with unwavering consistency.
Balancing Academic Excellence and Social Responsibility
In addition to her environmental work, Delos Santos’s brilliance extends far beyond the stage. Specifically, she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Far Eastern University-Manila and successfully passed the Medical Technologists Licensure Examination in March 2023.

Days before winning the national title, she reflected on social media about the immense sacrifices behind her achievements:
Through sleepless nights, endless examinations, and countless sacrifices, I persevered. Four years later, I proudly earned my degree and passed the licensure examination.”
Ultimately, her journey reflects the evolving image of beauty queens as dynamic individuals who masterfully balance thriving careers, advanced education, and a deep sense of social responsibility.
The Winning Moment and a Shared Green Mission
Ultimately, the question-and-answer round became the evening’s true turning point.
When asked how she would accept the responsibilities of the crown, Delos Santos delivered a final statement that struck a profound chord with both panelists and the audience, secure her win:
…I guide every single day in working towards positioning the Philippines not simply as a model of sustainable development and ecological responsibility, but also as a destination of beauty.
For me, that is exactly what love and action are. Remember, love changes nothing unless it moves, and when it moves, it truly changes everything.”
Following her crowning, four extraordinary women joined Delos Santos in the Miss Philippines Earth 2026 court:
- Miss Philippines Air: Prima Joy Alamban (Tumauini, Isabela)
- Miss Philippines Water: Alyssa Mildred Villariña (Mandaluyong City)
- Miss Philippines Fire: Patricia Anne Nichole Bangug (Agoo, La Union)
- Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism: Roveelaine Eve Castillo (Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte)
United, they will champion environmental awareness and drive sustainability efforts nationwide.

Since 2001, Miss Philippines Earth has distinguished itself from traditional beauty contests by incorporating green advocacy at its core. As a result, candidates are judged not only on poise and intelligence but also on their ability to inspire communities to become environmental guardians.
In conclusion, for Delos Santos, this mission started long before she walked onto the national stage.
Through her work as a tour guide in Cagayan, her accomplishments in the medical field, and her preparations to represent the Philippines globally, she embodies the beauty of a queen whose impact extends far beyond the pageant world.
As she prepares for Miss Earth 2026, it is completely clear that her role is more than symbolic—her words and actions reveal a deep devotion to turning intentions into real, lasting change.
