SB19 is turning their dream of global success into reality.

Recently, the P-Pop supergroup made impressive moves across Asia’s music scene through a series of key activities in Japan. By taking on cross-border collaborations, major music festivals, and landmark TV appearances, they are actively reaching new audiences. As a result, their international footprint just  keeps growing.

Taking the Festival Stage at Summer Sonic

To kick things off, SB19 recently debuted at SUMMER SONIC 2026, performing in both Osaka and Tokyo. This milestone placed the group alongside major international headliners and local stars. Reflecting on the opportunity, PABLO shared,

Performing in both Osaka and Tokyo is another milestone for us, and we’re incredibly grateful for the chance to introduce SB19 to Japanese audiences and connect with them. We have a wide range of songs and genres in our repertoire, so fans can expect an energetic and diverse set that showcases different sides of SB19.”

Most of all, they’re hoping that their performances will allow people to experience their music, energy, and hopefully capture their hearts.

In addition, they shared Tokyo’s Pacific Stage with Japanese artist Kento Nakajima. During their set, they brought Nakajima onstage for a live performance of “GENTO,” which thrilled the crowd and sparked anticipation for an official collaboration.

Speaking on the team-up, Nakajima said,

This time, I had the special opportunity to write part of the lyrics for this track,”

Nakajima shares.

There was definitely pressure putting new lyrics on GENTO—such an important song for SB19—but the members kindly told me, ‘Just be yourself, as always,’ so I poured in everything that came to mind.”

Japan TV Waves Is Now!

Beyond the festival stage, SB19 crossed off another major bucket-list goal. On August 13, they made their live Japanese television debut on NTV’s DayDay. During the show’s Dotti Dotti segment, they performed their latest single “LAWLESS” for the first time on Japanese TV. Furthermore, they showed off their fun personalities while playing a game with host Ryota Yamasato (Yama-chan). Describing this moment, JUSTIN noted,

While we remain the same SB19 that people know in the Philippines, being welcomed into a Japanese television program is a huge milestone for us and something we are truly honored and grateful for.”

Global Horizons All The Way!

Meanwhile, this trip marks an important transition in SB19’s creative trajectory. To support their expansion, Sony Music Japan released the Japanese edition of Wakas at Simula in physical and online stores. Highlighting the weight of these events, JOSH explains,

Now, having these opportunities in Japan through our collaboration with top Japanese artists, performing at SUMMER SONIC, and appearing on Japanese television feels like an important step forward in that journey. We’re more than grateful to be able to share our music and connect with Japanese audiences while learning from every experience along the way. We hope this chapter will help us reach even more people around the world.”

Looking toward the future, KEN expressed optimism about building lasting connections, adding,

We would love to have more performances, television appearances, and features in Japanese publications, but most importantly, we want to continue introducing our music and sharing who we are as SB19. We hope that more people will discover our songs and embrace us as artists.”

Ultimately, SB19’s recent achievements prove that their global ambitions are translating into real-world opportunities. By building authentic cross-cultural relationships and sharing their artistry on bigger stages, they continue to pave the way for P-Pop.

Consequently, SB19’s  Japanese chapter is a testament of a  solid foundation for bringing Filipino music on the international stages.
