Independent Philippine music label Offshore Music has officially signed 19-year-old soul-pop artist Paco Pastor. Although young, the Manila-based singer-songwriter is already making waves in the local indie scene. In fact, he writes, records, and self-produces his own music with a remarkably hands-on approach.
Paco’s Soul-Pop Element
Paco made his official debut in 2025 with the single “There Somehow”.
Shortly after, he released his four-track EP Gotta Be, featuring songs like “Talking to the Moon”. He also released a cozy holiday track titled “Hey Dear” to showcase his versatile style. Furthermore, his musical approach draws deep inspiration from soul legends and celebrated female artists like Sade, Nectar Woode, and Olivia Dean. Explaining how these influences shape his artistic identity, Pastor shared,
There are so many aspects to me as an artist that it really isn’t just one color,”
Honed And Nurtured By Family Of Arts
Interestingly, stepping into the spotlight was not always part of Paco’s plan.
However, key people in his life pushed him to take the stage. He credits his best friend, Alysha, for giving him the initial encouragement, stating,
Being on stage or performing [was] never one of my dreams. But I always knew that I did love music, but performing up there? Not a chance… Until this [Alysha] girl came into my life.”
In addition, his creative parents offered strong support from the start. As Paco recalled, his mom playfully told him,
If you didn’t make good music, we wouldn’t have let you go this path at all. Good thing you really are our child.”
Joining Ely Buendia’s Offshore Music
Eventually, Paco’s rapid momentum caught the attention of Ely Buendia’s record label. After performing live with a full band and jamming with seasoned musicians at Waddle House Manila, he officially joined Offshore Music. Dani Mendoza, the label’s A&R Manager, noted that signing him was an easy choice. She explained that Paco is a complete package because he writes, produces, and performs his own work. As a result, his talent aligns perfectly with the label’s mission to champion independent artists.
Ultimately, with strong support systems and a fresh record deal, Paco Pastor is set for a bright future. His transition from a solo creator to a signed recording artist marks an exciting new chapter for his career.
Without a doubt, music lovers should keep an eye on this rising soul-pop talent.
