Ronaldo Goes Way Back Into Love
Author Ronaldo Vivo, Jr. is widely recognized for his acclaimed Dreamland Books trilogy. Behind the cult hit, the series is known for Ronaldo’s gritty transgressive fiction and crime noir, Vivo writes about poverty, crime, and broken systems in the Philippines.
Specifically, this series includes Ang Kapangyarihang Higit Sa Ating Lahat (Madrigal-Gonzales First Book Award 2015), Ang Bangin Sa Ilalim Ng Ating Mga Paa (National Book Awards in 2023), and Ang Suklam Sa Ating Naaagnas na Balat. This trilogy is by far, a little grim compared to this romantic novella. Just this morning, Ronaldo personally posted the pre-order link on his facebook account. In his latest release, he takes readers on a reflective journey through sparse memory and time.
As the synopsis reads:
Sa susunod na apat na araw, magkikitang muli sina Les at Elle makalipas ang walong taon. Pinaghandaan ni Les ang muling pagkikita. Walong taon at marami siyang nais na itama. Gamit ang P850 na budget, bumili siya ng brown polo shirt at rubber shoes sa ukay-ukay. Pero nang sukatin niya ang sapatos, bigla na lamang siyang nagbalik sa nakaraan. Dito magsisimula ang pagpaparoo’t parito ni Les sa mga alaala at pisikal na sandali kasama si Elle noong sila’y kolehiyo pa lamang.

UngazPress, born out of a shared passion during Ronaldo’s senior year of college, when a tight-knit group of friends united over their love for literature, music, and film. They spent their time swapping short stories, essays, and poetry while dreaming of publishing an anthology together. Though the vision didn’t materialize right away, those endless nights spent hanging out, brainstorming ideas, and writing purely for the love of it served as the foundation for their craft as zinesters.
