Ben&Ben continued to cement their role as one of the most influential voices in contemporary OPM throughout 2025. From becoming the first Filipino act to surpass three billion streams on Spotify to winning Album of the Year at the 28th Awit Awards for The Traveller Across Dimensions, the band consistently demonstrated their resonance with audiences both locally and internationally. Their collaboration with SB19 on the socially charged track “Kapangyarihan” further highlighted their connection to the country’s cultural and political zeitgeist, turning music into a vehicle for collective expression. The achievements of the Ben&Ben Duyan single are shaping the future of OPM.

Now, as the new year unfolds, the nine-piece ensemble invites listeners to a more personal journey with the release of their latest single, “Duyan,” available on all digital platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. In fact, their new Ben&Ben Duyan single marks a heartfelt new chapter in their discography.

A Song of Commitment and Intimacy

“Duyan” was written and composed by frontman Miguel Benjamin just days before his wedding, serving as a heartfelt message to his then-future wife. Produced alongside longtime collaborator Ziv and the rest of Ben&Ben, the track exemplifies the band’s signature blend of emotional depth and musical expansiveness. Especially for fans, the release of Ben&Ben’s new Duyan single provides a deeper sense of the band’s storytelling power.

“There are songs where artists write themselves in the music, and this is one of them,” Miguel explains. “The idea of fully offering oneself to another person stayed with me. It’s a love inspired by lifelong commitment, shared journeys, and selflessness.”

Musically, the song combines rousing pop-rock instrumentation with a lyrical focus on devotion, loyalty, and the deliberate choice to remain committed even in challenging circumstances. “Maximizing the soul and expanse of the band’s instruments was essential to take it to the fullest version it was meant to become,” Miguel adds. Notably, this approach shines on the Ben&Ben Duyan single.

Closing the Mahiwaga Trilogy

“Duyan” completes Ben&Ben’s Mahiwaga Trilogy, a thematic arc exploring different dimensions of romantic love. The trilogy began with Pagtingin, an exploration of love at first sight, and continued with Araw-Araw, a tribute to the conscious choice of daily love. Now, “Duyan” delivers the trilogy’s final message: enduring commitment and assurance. Furthermore, by tying together the Ben&Ben Duyan single and its central themes, the band has defined their recent releases.

“Two years after I wrote the song, keeping it personal, it made sense for it to be shared,” Miguel says. “It also made sense for it to be the conclusion of the trilogy.”

Ben&Ben continue to shape contemporary OPM with music that bridges personal storytelling and collective experience.

Visual Storytelling Through Music Video

The single is accompanied by a wedding-themed music video starring real-life couple Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos, who also appeared in previous installments of the trilogy. Directed by Daniel Aguilar of Lunchbox Studios, the video combines intimate storytelling with a touch of magical realism, capturing the evolution of commitment and love across time. Additionally, this visual complements the Ben&Ben Duyan single’s emotional narrative.

Gabbi and Khalil reflect on the project as a journey parallel to their own growth. “It’s beautiful to see how the story progressed since Pagtingin,” Khalil shares. “At every stage of the trilogy, we could deeply relate to it, because it reflected the different phases of our own relationships through the years.”

Why “Duyan” Matters

Beyond its commercial success, “Duyan” highlights Ben&Ben’s unique ability to intertwine personal narratives with universal themes. The song and its accompanying visuals resonate because they are grounded in authenticity, lived experience, and a careful attention to storytelling that has long defined the band’s career. In doing so, Ben&Ben not only closes a significant chapter in their musical journey but also reinforces their position—and with the Ben&Ben Duyan single, especially—as key contributors to the evolution of Filipino music.

“Duyan” is now available on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment, with the music video streaming on Ben&Ben’s official YouTube channel.
