The 2026 DTI Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair (NFF) concluded with ₱125.6 million in total sales, solidifying its status as a vital platform for expanding market reach and commercial opportunities for Philippine micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Held from April 8 to 12 at the SM Megamall Megatrade Halls, the five-day exhibition featured more than 300 participants from across the archipelago. The event served as a high-impact business environment, connecting local entrepreneurs with consumers, retailers, and institutional buyers.
Government Support and Long-Term Vision
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque noted that the fair aligns with the whole-of-government strategy under the Bagong Pilipinas agenda. This initiative aims to provide MSMEs with the tools necessary for sustainable scaling and long-term stability.
In her keynote address, Secretary Roque offered a message of reassurance to local business owners:
Beyond the immediate solutions that we offer, our goal is long-term growth. We want your businesses to be efficient and innovative so that you do not just survive uncertainty, you thrive in it.”
DTI Assistant Secretary Nylah Rizza Bautista further explained the event’s strategic pillars, stating:
This year, we highlight key drivers shaping a stronger food sector—coconut-based products, Halal-certified goods, and the creativity of former OFWs turned entrepreneurs.”

Strengthening the Value Chain
Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. emphasized the intrinsic connection between primary production and commercial enterprise. He remarked that enhancing support for farmers and improving their access to markets are fundamental steps in creating a resilient and competitive national food industry.
The 2026 NFF also prioritized the burgeoning halal sector as a significant growth engine. Given the increasing global demand, the fair highlighted the necessity of certification, rigorous standards, and continuous innovation to help Filipino MSMEs penetrate international export markets.
Fostering Innovation and Connection
The exhibition showcased a diverse array of entrepreneurs, including former overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who have leveraged their international experience to launch innovative local businesses.
To facilitate professional networking, the fair featured the Business Connect Lounge, a dedicated space designed to foster enduring partnerships between MSMEs and institutional buyers. These efforts ensure that the commercial benefits of the fair extend well beyond the five-day event.
Ultimately, the 2026 NFF serves as a testament to the creativity and resilience of Filipino food entrepreneurs, positioning them for continued success in both domestic and global marketplaces.
