Imagine if your love life were no longer in your hands. For Filipino actors and models Marco Gallo and L.A. Aguinaldo, the search for love is about to get a lot more interesting, thanks to their closest friends and a dash of strategy.

A Strategic Twist on Reality Dating

Specifically, the two Filipino personalities are among eight singles from across the region taking part in WINGMAN, Mediacorp’s new regional reality dating show, streaming on the Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube channel and mewatch.Furthermore, the show’s twist is as bold as it is intriguing. Each single steps into the WINGMAN villa accompanied by their best friend, who is no mere bystander. Instead, these wingmen plunge into challenges, plot with fellow friends, and actively steer their singles through the thrills and pitfalls of dating.

Navigating Past Scars and New Sparks

For instance, 25-year-old Marco enters this adventure following two three-year relationships that ended in heartbreak and public criticism. Although he has never struggled to attract attention, finding a genuine connection has proved elusive. Consequently, he is hoping to find a true bond beyond the bright lights of showbiz. Meanwhile, model and entertainer Lorenzo Isip stands at his side, set to guide Marco toward the right romantic moves and save him from potential missteps.

Similarly, 33-year-old L.A. brings his own set of relationship scars. Because life in the Philippine entertainment industry places every romance under a microscope, he previously kept his love life under wraps—a choice he admits left past partners feeling invisible. However, he is now ready for a fresh start and hopes to find love beyond the usual faces of show business. Beside him is his best friend—model, actor, and media entrepreneur Richard Juan—acting as a key partner in this unconventional quest for romance.

High Stakes and Global Streaming

Ultimately, friendship becomes the secret weapon in this dating game. While singles chase sparks, it is their wingmen whose strategic choices could make or break a budding romance. In addition to finding love, there is substantial money on the line: the winning couple will take home S$20,000, while the winning wingman receives S$10,000.

The regional singles and their best friends gather for Mediacorp’s reality dating show, WINGMAN.

Hosted by Mediacorp 987’s Germaine Tan and produced by Beach House Pictures, the 12-episode series kicks off with four episodes on September 10, followed by two new episodes dropping every Thursday leading up to the grand finale on October 8. Because the series is streaming worldwide for free, viewers everywhere can join the conversation from anywhere and ponder the ultimate question: Can your best friend truly know who you’re meant to love?
