Yes, it’s that time of the year again!

The scent of sizzling aromatics and the clatter of stainless steel prepare to fill the halls, the local and international culinary community turns its gaze toward Metro Manila.

From July 29 to August 1, 2026, the SMX Convention Center Manila will transform into the country’s premier arena for gastronomic mastery as it hosts the Philippine Culinary Cup (PCC) 2026. Staged alongside the World Food Expo (WOFEX) Manila, the four-day event remains the gold standard for competitive cooking in the Philippines.

Now in its sixteenth year, the competition continues its tradition as the only culinary contest in the Philippines certified by the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WORLDCHEFS).

Organized through the enduring partnership between WOFEX (PEPTarsus Corp.) and the LTB Philippines Chefs Association, the PCC serves as an essential bridge between local culinary talent and international standards.

A Platform built on World-Class standards

Since its commencement, the Philippine Culinary Cup has established a reputation for strict adherence to global culinary benchmarks. By providing a venue that mirrors international arenas such as the Culinary Olympics and the FHA Culinary Challenge, the event allows Filipino chefs to hone their skills on home soil before stepping onto the global stage.

A panel of nearly one hundred esteemed evaluators, comprising both international master chefs and respected local figures, will oversee the live-cooking and display categories. These judges evaluate each dish using strict WACS criteria.

To begin with, judges closely monitor professional preparation and hygiene, thoroughly assessing kitchen organization, and strict sanitation practices. And most importantly, their effective waste management under intense time pressure.

Simultaneously, they turn their attention to service and presentation, evaluating each dish for visual harmony, appropriate portion sizing, and practical execution.

Ultimately, the highest priority is placed on the flavor profile and technique, where the panel meticulously weighs taste balance, texture contrasts, and technical precision above all else.
