Ever wondered how a performer transforms into an iconic character on stage? This month, theatre fans, aspiring creatives, and makeup enthusiasts can discover the magic behind theatrical transformation at the Makeup Workshop with Myrene Santos, presented by Stagedoor by GMG Productions in partnership with Myrene Santos on October 25, 2026, at the Opera Haus in Makati.
Unlocking the Magic of Theatrical Transformation
Inspired by one of theatre’s most recognizable looks, Elphaba’s signature green makeup from Wicked, the workshop lets participants explore the artistry behind bringing a character to life.

Through guided instruction, attendees will learn how theatrical makeup creates defining features, enhances expressions, and develops a look designed to stand out under stage lights.

Beyond the makeup application itself, the session will also offer a behind-the-scenes look at the techniques and creative processes used to prepare performers for the stage.
Learn From an Industry Expert
Myrene Santos, a professional wig maker, wig dresser, and hair and makeup artist specializing in theatrical styling and character transformation, will lead the workshop. Her experience includes major international productions such as Hamilton, The Lion King, Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, and The Sound of Music, making the workshop an exciting opportunity to learn from a professional who brings theatrical characters to life.
Ticket Options and Exclusive Add-Ons
Participants can choose between two workshop experiences, depending on their interests and level of involvement. The Hands-On Ticket, priced at ₱2,500 (early bird tickets available for ₱2,000), lets attendees recreate the Green Witch makeup look on themselves with step-by-step guidance from Santos. Participants are encouraged to bring their own makeup products, brushes, tools, preferred makeup remover, drinking water, and, if desired, a light snack. A recommended materials list will be provided through the registration form. For those who prefer to observe and learn, the Observer Ticket is available for ₱500. It includes access to the live demonstration, the opportunity to follow the techniques, and a question-and-answer session, although hands-on participation is not included.
Attendees may also purchase the optional Green Witch Makeup Kit for ₱850, sold separately from the workshop ticket and available exclusively to participants. Each kit includes water-based green face paint, a makeup-fixing spray, a basic eyeshadow palette, a makeup sponge, and a small brush set, with everything you need to explore the signature look.
Whether you’re a theatre enthusiast eager to try something new, an aspiring creative curious about backstage artistry, or a makeup lover looking to expand your skills, this workshop lets you explore the creative process behind one of musical theatre’s most recognizable characters. With expert guidance, practical techniques, and a closer look at behind-the-scenes artistry, the experience invites participants to discover how makeup can transform not just appearances, but also how a character comes to life.
