Organizers from Vocento Gastronomía, the group behind the renowned Madrid Fusion congress, have brought “¡Buen provecho! Spain Fusion: The Premium Experience” to the Philippines. In partnership with the Spanish government, the exclusive event features a curated series of masterclasses, tastings, and live cooking demonstrations at The Westin Manila in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong.

For half a decade, this traveling culinary showcase—supported by Foods and Wines from Spain—has traversed the globe to promote Spain’s gastronomic heritage. The Manila debut introduces a selection of the country’s most prestigious food brands and products to the Philippine market.

The event aligns with current market trends; according to a 2025 consumer insights report, Filipino diners are increasingly prioritizing premium quality, citing taste, freshness, and health benefits as primary drivers for their culinary choices.

A Confluence of Michelin-Starred Talent

To highlight the versatility of Spanish ingredients, Spain Fusion has enlisted a team of globally recognized chefs and industry experts. The lineup includes Albert Adrià, a former creative director of El Bulli and current owner of the two-starred Enigma in Barcelona.  Second is, Ricard Camarena, a Chef of the namesake two-starred restaurant in Valencia, and lastly, Chele González, the Chef of Manila’s one-starred Gallery by Chele.

The program also features specialized sessions led by Master of Wine Fernando Mora, olive oil expert Alfonso Fernández, and Rosa Vañó, founding partner of Castillo de Canena.

Economic Impact and Innovation

The timing of the event coincides with a period of significant growth for the Philippine food and beverage sector. Data from Statista indicates that the industry’s economic contribution is rising as the country blends local heritage with international influences.

Spain Fusion intends to act as a catalyst for this growth by fostering strategic partnerships and introducing culinary innovations to the local scene. Organizers suggest that integrating Spanish brands with Filipino cuisine can bolster tourism and provide long-term benefits to the broader culinary community and local economy.

Bridging Two Cultures Together

The event is framed as a cultural exchange rather than a mere trade show. Benjamín Lana, managing director of Vocento Gastronomía, emphasizes the deeper connection between the two nations.

More than a culinary showcase, Spain Fusion: The Premium Experience is a celebration of the shared passion for excellence that unites two vibrant cultures,” Lana explains.

He notes that the event represents a new chapter for the local industry, as it aims to make high-quality Spanish ingredients more accessible to Filipino chefs and consumers alike. By blending premium European products with traditional Filipino hospitality, Spain Fusion seeks to redefine the local dining landscape.
