Pag-IBIG Fund has stepped up to deliver fast, accessible relief to hundreds of thousands of Filipino workers navigating unexpected financial burdens.
Instant Relief for Workers
Through its Special Assistance for Financial Emergencies (SAFE) Loan, the agency has disbursed ₱5.82 billion in under six weeks.
Consequently, over 803,000 members have already received crucial aid to cope with economic tensions from the Middle East.
Highlighting the purpose behind this initiative, Secretary Jose Ramon P. Aliling, who heads the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and chairs the Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees, noted:
President Marcos has called on government agencies to make services more responsive to the needs of Filipino workers.
In line with this call, Pag-IBIG Fund is providing ready and affordable financial assistance through the SAFE Loan, especially as the continuing tensions in the Middle East create financial challenges that are being felt by our members and their families.
We want our members to know that they can turn to Pag-IBIG Fund for support as they meet their needs and care for their families during this time.”
Easy Terms and Application
Qualified members can borrow up to ₱10,000 or 90% of their regular savings, whichever is lower. To qualify, you simply need 12 monthly contributions and no defaulted loans. Additionally, the plan features a low 5.95% annual interest rate and a helpful three-month grace period before payments begin.
To apply, members can submit a valid ID and selfie online via Virtual Pag-IBIG, or they can visit any physical branch.
Comprehensive Long-Term Support
Beyond emergency assistance, Pag-IBIG continues to support members’ bigger, long-term goals.
Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene C. Acosta emphasized their dual focus on emergency relief and homeownership:
Pag-IBIG Fund is here to help our members in every way we can. In support of President Marcos’ call to provide aid to Filipino workers in need, we are providing ready and affordable financial assistance through the SAFE Loan.
At the same time, we continue to help members achieve homeownership through housing loans offered at rates below market,”
Acosta said.
Furthermore, she added that members who need additional support can tap into other resources if they still have eligible savings:
For members who still have remaining loanable amount based on their savings, our Pag-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan remains ready to provide further assistance should they need it.
This is part of our commitment to be here for our members, not only for their immediate financial needs, but also as their partner in achieving homeownership and building better lives for their families,”
Acosta said.
Whether you need quick cash flow or long-term housing help, Pag-IBIG Fund is ready to assist.
Interested members who need ready and affordable financial assistance may apply for the Pag-IBIG SAFE Loan until September 8, 2026.
