Theatre Group Asia (TGA) launches its 2026–2027 season with a musical inspired by Nicholas Sparks’ bestselling novel and the cherished 2004 film. With Ingrid Michaelson’s soul-stirring music and lyrics and Bekah Brunstetter’s insightful book, this stage adaptation prompts audiences to rediscover the love story—not as a passing romance, but as a course of choosing each other, time and again, through the changing years.
Three Lifetimes, One Enduring Love
At the heart of the story are Allie and Noah, their love unfolding across the seasons of life. Rather than a single pair of actors tracing their journey from youth to old age, the musical entrusts the roles to three sets of performers. Audiences witness the couple as fiery young lovers, as adults journeying through life’s tangled paths, and finally as an elderly pair holding fast to the fine threads of memory.
A Star-Studded Cast of Allie and Noah
For the Manila production, Philippine theater icon Celeste Legaspi plays Older Allie opposite acclaimed actor Rody Vera as Older Noah. Acclaimed singer and performer Morissette takes on Middle Allie, with Laurence Mossman as Middle Noah, while Sheena Belarmino and Benedix Ramos portray Young Allie and Young Noah.
This casting choice weaves another layer into the story. The Allie and Noah we meet in one chapter may appear worlds apart from who they become, yet a thin thread of feeling ties them together through every transformation.
The Supporting Cast and Ensemble
The rest of the ensemble brings its own energy to the world around them, with Carla Guevara Laforteza as Mother, Floyd Tena as Father, Shaun Ocrisma as Fin, Jillian Itaas as Georgie, Felicity Kyle Napuli as Sarah, Markki Streom as Lon, Kathleen Francisco as Nurse Joanna, and Omar Uddin as Johnny.
The production also features a company of covers, including Justine Narciso, Albert Silos, Katrine Sunga, Edward Benosa, Gimbey dela Cruz, and Jamie Wilson, who step into multiple roles across the production.
Visionary Direction for an International Premiere
Behind the Manila staging is Filipino-American director Nicholas Polonio, who returns to the Philippines to direct the international premiere. Based in New York City, Polonio has developed a body of work centered on emotionally rich productions and intensely human performances.
For Polonio, the production also represents a return to the Philippines while working on a musical that has already captured the imagination of audiences familiar with Sparks’ story.

Michaelson’s score pulses at the heart of the musical’s emotion. Famous for her intimate songwriting and gentle pop sensibility, she infuses the story with fresh life, rooting it in memory and unfaltering devotion.
