Since its debut in 1999, the live dance show Burn the Floor has reimagined international ballroom dancing, infusing it with bold, fiery energy and a theatrical edge. Now, the global dance phenomenon is set to take Manila by storm with Burn the Floor: Ballroom Reinvented, running from July 10 to 15, 2025, at The Theatre at Solaire.
“Manila is a city with a deep love for performance and dance,” said Harley Medcalf, founder and producer of Burn the Floor. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring Burn the Floor to this incredible audience. We absolutely can’t wait for Filipinos to experience the energy, passion and sheer brilliance of our world-class dancers. This show is a true celebration of movement, music and raw emotion.”
A production that has transformed the traditional art of ballroom since its inception, Burn the Floor promises an electrifying experience filled with intensity and extraordinary talent. The show has earned its reputation as “the toughest dance company in the world.” Its mantra, ‘No fear, no boundaries,’ continues to push the limits of ballroom dance, transforming it into an unforgettable spectacle.
“I wanted to create a showcase that fuses the wonderful traditions of ballroom dancing, its sensuality, discipline and commitment, with the technology, creativity and energy of a rock-and-roll production,” Medcalf added.
The show will feature standard ballroom dances such as the slow waltz, tango, Viennese waltz and foxtrot, alongside Latin styles including the cha-cha, samba, rumba, paso doble and jive. Each number is delivered with the heart-pounding energy that has captivated audiences from Broadway to London’s West End.
With a legacy spanning 27 years and performances in more than 180 cities across 30 countries, Burn the Floor has toured extensively throughout Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, India, South Africa, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States, thrilling audiences with its dynamic reinvention of ballroom dance.
The Manila production is presented by GMG Productions on behalf of Dance Partner Productions. Tickets go on sale March 20, 2025, exclusively via TicketWorld.
