In today’s fast-paced market, discovering innovative, sustainable, and locally made products is not just a trend—it is an experience that connects consumers directly to Filipino creativity, culture, and enterprise. The upcoming 2026 DTI–Bagong Pilipinas National Trade Fair offers just that, giving visitors a chance to explore high-quality, eco-friendly, and design-driven Filipino products while supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Beyond shopping, it is a platform for inspiration, education, and engagement with the people and ideas shaping the country’s business landscape.
A Strong Start to the 2026 Trade Calendar
The Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and One Town One Product (BMDPO) kicks off its 2026 trade fair program from February 18 to 22 at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. Admission is free, making it an accessible opportunity for both casual consumers and serious business partners to experience a curated showcase of Filipino enterprise.
Building on a successful 2025, DTI-BMDPO’s trade fairs generated ₱621.1 million in combined sales, confirmed orders, and ongoing negotiations, benefiting 1,490 MSMEs nationwide and attracting more than 163,000 visitors and buyers. These numbers reflect more than just transactions; they represent the growing capacity of Filipino businesses to expand markets, strengthen brands, and innovate sustainably.
“Each trade fair is a celebration of Filipino talent and entrepreneurship. It is an opportunity for consumers and businesses to connect directly with creators and innovators,” said Asec. Nylah Rizza Bautista, supervising head of DTI-BMDPO. “Through consistent trade fair participation, MSMEs can move from single-event exposure to sustainable growth in both retail and B2B markets.”
Curated Experiences and Sustainable Innovation
This year’s National Trade Fair highlights the Philippine Sustainability Pavilion, showcasing furniture, textiles, fashion, and handicrafts made from coconut-based materials, engineered bamboo, plant-based dyes, natural fibers, and other eco-conscious resources. Visitors can witness innovative uses of recyclable and reusable materials transformed into functional pieces for homes, offices, and commercial spaces.
Beyond the exhibition floor, attendees can participate in live craft workshops, product demonstrations, and cultural performances—activities designed to deepen appreciation for Filipino creativity and the stories behind each product. According to Maria Lopez, a regular visitor and lifestyle entrepreneur, “Walking through the fair is like seeing the future of Filipino design. You learn, shop, and meet the makers themselves—it is inspiring and educational all at once.”
Strengthening B2B Connections
Complementing the National Trade Fair is Buyer’s Day 2026: Sourcing and Connections, a pre-event activity focused on business-to-business networking and partnerships. Corporate and institutional buyers have the chance to engage with MSMEs directly, fostering collaborations that extend beyond single transactions. As one participating supplier noted, “Buyer’s Day gave us meaningful access to serious partners. It is where ideas and business opportunities truly start to take shape.”
Trade Fairs as Engines of Enterprise Growth
DTI-BMDPO emphasizes that trade fairs are more than marketplaces; they are engines for enterprise development. Participating MSMEs can test new products, refine branding, adjust pricing strategies, and receive immediate market feedback. With twelve trade fair events planned for 2026, DTI-BMDPO aims to create a system that integrates consumer exposure with strategic B2B sourcing, helping enterprises achieve sustained market presence.
Anchored in the Bagong Pilipinas vision, this year’s trade fair underscores sustainability, Filipino craftsmanship, and inclusive market access. As the opening event of 2026, it sets the tone for a year of innovation, buyer engagement, and meaningful business outcomes.
Whether you are a conscious consumer, an aspiring entrepreneur, or a business buyer, the 2026 DTI–Bagong Pilipinas National Trade Fair is a chance to experience Filipino creativity, connect with the makers behind the products, and witness the next chapter in MSME growth.
