This year’s event truly elevated the entire industry. The 2026 COCONUTPhilippines Trade Fair ended on a high note, proving that trade shows can drive serious economic impact. Over five energetic days, local coconut entrepreneurs gathered to showcase innovations, build corporate partnerships, and shatter previous sales records.
Record-Breaking Sales
First, the numbers speak for themselves. Held from August 26 to 30 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, the fair brought together 300 micro, small, and medium enterprises. Together, these ambitious “cocopreneurs” generated a whopping P309.57 million in total sales. For comparison, last year’s event featured 213 businesses and brought in P96.9 million. This huge jump highlights both the rapid growth of the local coconut sector and rising consumer demand for quality domestic goods. Vendors displayed a vibrant range of products, including food, beverages, personal care items, crafts, and eco-friendly materials.
Stronger Government Collaboration
In addition, the fair highlighted a powerful whole-of-government approach to supporting local farmers. Scheduled during National Coconut Week, the event was formally opened by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina A. Roque alongside Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) leadership. This partnership forms part of the broader Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP). During the opening ceremony, organizers launched three major initiatives: the CFIDP Coffee Table Book, the 2022–2025 Terminal Report, and a new official website to make public resources easily accessible.
Direct Partnerships for Future Growth
Finally, the event focused heavily on creating long-term business success. Inside the dedicated Buyers Lounge, entrepreneurs met face-to-face with corporate buyers to negotiate contracts and discuss supply needs. Meanwhile, ongoing CFIDP programs continue to fund farmer assistance, cooperative training, research, and product innovation. By combining direct market access with continuous support, the government is ensuring long-term prosperity for Filipino coconut farming communities.
