Fried chicken is in a league of its own. Not only is it delicious and crispy, it is also easy to prepare. Just slice it up into the desired size or number of pieces, marinate with spices, and fry until it is crunchy outside and juicy inside.

With a crunchy skin and succulent meat oozing with well-seasoned juices, fried chicken is a delightful part of the meal. A scrumptious chicken that is cooked to perfection is made even more delightful with the addition of this delicious white sauce.

Ingredients

Set A:
1/2 kg. chicken breast fillet
1 Tbsp. salt
1 – 2 cups water
Set B (Egg Mixture)
1 pc. egg
1/2 Tbsp. garlic, minced
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. calamansi juice
Set C (Flour Mixture):
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 Tbsp. black pepper
Cooking oil, for frying
Set D (Sauce):
1 cup Nestle All-Purpose Cream
1/2 Tbsp. garlic, minced
1/4 cup cheese, grated
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 pack Maggi Magic Sarap
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Butter and flour, as thickener
Set D (Garnish and Side Dish):
Chopped parsley
Corn
Carrots
Peas

Instructions

  1. Brine the chicken in salted water to make it juicier and more flavorful.
  2. Prepare the egg mixture. In a large container, add the egg, garlic, salt, and calamansi juice. Mix well.
  3. Prepare the flour mixture. In a large container, add the flour, salt, cornstarch, paprika, and black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Prepare the chicken. Slice the chicken in halves and score it. Cover it with plastic wrap and pound the chicken.
  5. Put the prepared chicken in the egg mixture and let it marinate for 10 – 20 minutes.
  6. While the chicken is marinating, prepare the sauce. In a pot, add the Nestle All-Purpose Cream, garlic, and cheese. Season with Worcestershire sauce, Maggi Magic Sarap, salt, and pepper.
  7. Stir it constantly until the cheese melts. Do not let it boil. Keep it on a slow simmer so the sauce does not break and remains smooth. Let it simmer for a minute, or until the sauce thickens.
  8. In a pan, heat the oil. Dredge the marinated chicken in the flour mixture, then place it in the pan. Fry until it becomes golden-brown and crisp. Once cooked, remove it from the pan and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain the excess oil. Repeat the process until all the chickens are cooked.
  9. If the sauce is not thick enough, mix butter and flour in a bowl. Add the butter-flour mixture into the sauce and stir.
  10. Once the sauce has thickened, pour it over the chicken and serve.

A mouthwatering meal can be prepared at a moment’s notice with this recipe. Within the span of an hour, the entire family can have an appetizing dish that will surely fill them up. You could even cook more sauce than needed to ensure that every chicken has its share of sauce, and even cover the rice if desired.
