Performed in Japanese with English subtitles, audiences can experience the production in its original language while following the story effortlessly.
Chantal Prudhomme, Chief Executive Officer of Base Entertainment Asia—presenter of ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical in Singapore—said:
ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical represents an extraordinary leap from manga to the musical stage, reimagining one of the world’s most recognized manga titles through the uniquely Japanese form of 2.5-dimensional theatre, where manga and anime meet live performance.”
It’s a thrilling combination of high-impact action, cutting-edge technology, original music, live vocals, and choreography that brings a whole new dimension to ATTACK on TITAN.
Prudhomme added:
Having made its mark in Japan before taking the stage internationally at New York City Center, we are proud to present the original Japanese production in Singapore as its first engagement in Asia outside Japan.”
For fans, it offers another way to experience a world they have come to know so well.
For audiences fascinated by Japanese culture and entertainment, a window into a theatrical tradition they may not have encountered before; and for musical theatre fans, an opportunity to discover a different kind of musical storytelling within this 2.5-dimensional genre.”
The Beginning of an Epic Story
Created by Japanese manga artist Hajime Isayama, ATTACK on TITAN follows humanity’s desperate struggle for survival against mysterious, man-eating Titans. At the heart of the story are Eren Yeager, a determined young man driven by a longing for freedom; Mikasa Ackermann, a fiercely loyal and exceptionally skilled fighter; and Armin Arlert, their intelligent childhood friend with a brilliant mind for strategy.

When the Titans breach the ancient Walls protecting their home, the three are thrust into humanity’s fight for survival, joining the military alongside fellow recruits. Their journey brings them into the orbit of legendary key figures, including Levi, humanity’s strongest soldier; Erwin Smith, the resolute military commander leading the fight against the Titans; and Hange Zoe, an inquisitive commander determined to understand the mysterious creatures threatening their existence.
ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical focuses on this compelling early chapter of the saga, covering the story from its beginning through the Battle of Trost, with key elements condensed and expertly rearranged for the stage.
A Musical in Its Own Right
While deeply rooted in Isayama’s manga, ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical is a standalone musical theatre achievement featuring original songs written specifically for the stage.
Directed by Go Ueki, with a book by Masafumi Hata, music supervision by KEN THE 390, and lyrics by Kaori Miura, the production brings together an extraordinary creative team across music, theatre, choreography, and visual design to translate the universe of ATTACK on TITAN into a live theatrical event.

The musical features newly created compositions that give voice to the characters’ deepest emotions, relationships, and conflicts through live vocals and dramatic storytelling. It also incorporates “Guren no Yumiya,” the iconic opening theme from the first season of the ATTACK on TITAN anime.
Rather than simply transferring comic panels to the stage, the production uses music as an integral engine of storytelling, allowing audiences to experience the characters and their journeys through the medium of live theatre.
The 2.5-Dimensional Musical
A 2.5-dimensional musical is a distinctive Japanese form of live entertainment that brings characters and worlds from manga, anime, and games into the physical space of the stage. The “2.5” represents the bridge between the 2D world of the source material and the 3D realm of live performance.
In ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical, this concept comes alive through a seamless fusion of musical theatre, live-action stunts, and contemporary stage technology. Performers, stylized choreography, detailed costumes, practical effects, and visual projections work in harmony to recreate the terrifying world of the Titans live on stage.
The result is a theatrical milestone that combines traditional performance techniques with modern theatrical innovation to capture both the visual identity and emotional intensity of the original work.
Experience the Original Japanese Production
ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical premiered in Osaka and Tokyo in January 2023 as an original Japanese musical production.
