Ajinomoto, the Japanese food and biotechnology company, has partnered with Fast Logistics Corporation, a leading supply chain provider in the Philippines, to introduce electric vehicles into its logistics operations as part of a broader effort to reduce carbon emissions and advance sustainability initiatives.
The collaboration is part of Fast Logistics’ commitment to environmental, social, and governance, or ESG, principles. The company has outlined a long-term strategy to transition to a low-carbon economy, integrating renewable energy sources and more sustainable transportation practices.
“Fast Logistics is deeply invested in sustainability, strengthening our relationships with clients and employees while contributing to the positive development of society,” Manuel Onrejas Jr., the company’s chief operating officer, said in a statement. He added that the partnership with Ajinomoto aims to encourage businesses to adopt cleaner transportation methods, including night deliveries to ease congestion and electric vehicles to reduce emissions.
The company has also introduced self-sustaining charging stations that conserve energy within the community grid and expanded truck availability for clients to help address industry-wide shortages.
“Sustainability is no longer optional — it is essential,” said Jovany Ann Lee, head of revenue marketing and communications at Fast Logistics. She emphasized that businesses should incorporate sustainability into their operations not only for environmental impact but also for long-term profitability and brand reputation.
Fast Logistics, which has operated in the Philippines for more than 50 years, specializes in supply chain solutions, including inland trucking, warehousing and cold chain services.
The partnership with Ajinomoto is part of a larger movement among businesses to embed ESG principles into their supply chains. Through the adoption of electric vehicles and sustainable logistics solutions, the companies seek to establish a model for industry-wide environmental responsibility.
