Laguna-born and Quezon City-based solo artist neytan is making waves once again with the official release of his music video for “ikaw lang ang bossing ko”, premiering on October 30. Following the massive success of his previous hits, this rising star is bringing his trademark blend of humor and heartfelt storytelling to life alongside a true music icon.
Building on Success with a Quirky Identity
Building on the momentum of his breakout track “ano lasa ng pag-ibig? edi tipaklong”—which pulled in over a million streams on Spotify and 150K spins on TikTok—the Laguna lover boy dropped his follow-up single on June 19th. Furthermore, this release continues his signature mission of pairing quirky titles with deep, relatable meanings as an anthem for adoring your favorite person. To celebrate, neytan teamed up with Offshore Music to create a visual project inspired by his earlier lyric video, famously featuring him performing solo inside a guitar-strumming bathroom setting.
Collaborating with an OPM Legend
Taking things a step further, the new music video shifts its narrative to a bathroom at Sari Kitchen, where a very recognizable figure awaits behind the stall. In a thrilling turn of events, none other than rock icon and Offshore Music CEO Ely Buendia makes a special appearance. Reflecting on this incredible milestone, neytan shares,
It was a very exciting concept and it feels like a weird dream doing it with Sir Ely”.
Additionally, because he is a multimedia arts student, neytan took charge of editing the video himself, noting,
I generally love being creative in any area,”.
The Unique Artistry of neytan
Ultimately, neytan’s goofy yet fascinating exterior shines brightly through his distinct pop sound, which feels like a blend of 60s to 80s influences shaped by a nerdy Paul Dano, Alex Turner’s confidence, and Garfield’s easygoing vibe. Consequently, his mellow tunes resonate with everyone from casual listeners to fans of hypnagogic pop. By believing that simple entertainment like memes and cartoons can change lives, neytan continues to thrive and make a massive impact in today’s music scene. Catch the exclusive music video premiere on the Offshore Music YouTube Channel on October 30!
