Khalil Ramos and Ian Pangilinan are starring in Patay Gutom, a supernatural BL romance competing at the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival. The film explores themes of love, grief, and Philippine folklore, bringing together two actors who previously led distinct queer cinema projects.
Khalil and Ian’s Filmography
Khalil Ramos starred in the 2016 coming-of-age film 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten and won Best Actor at CinePanalo in 2025 for Olsen’s Day.

Ian Pangilinan gained recognition playing Vlad in the web series Gaya sa Pelikula. Their collaboration in Patay Gutom connects two actors who entered the local queer screen scene at different times.
Logline and Production Details
In Patay Gutom, Ian plays Tristan, a delivery rider who accidentally eats a food offering left at a grave, granting him the ability to see the ghost of Arturo “Art” Aquino, played by Khalil.

What starts as an unexpected encounter turns into a deeper connection as they address shared grief and family secrets. The film uses a hybrid format combining live-action for Tristan’s world with animation for Art’s ghost persona.
Ian is co-directing the feature alongside animation filmmaker Carl Joseph Papa, with Agot Isidro and Cris Villanueva in supporting roles.
Screenings and Ticket Options
As one of seven full-length entries in the festival lineup, Patay Gutom screens from September 23 to October 4 at venues including Gateway Cineplex 18, TriNoma, Fairview Terraces, and select Ayala Malls.

Regular tickets are priced at ₱250, while a ₱200 discounted rate is available for students, senior citizens, PWDs, national athletes, and select cardholders. An all-access festival pass covering all seven feature entries and 19 student shorts is available for ₱2,000.
