Tucked away in the midst of Baguio, 113 Wagner Cafe presents an intimate home dining experience, highlighting family-style meals while surrounding its guests in a cozy garden scenery. What started as a quiet dream to lure her children home transformed into one of Baguio City’s most cherished dining destinations. Founded by Techie Pantaleon, creator of the bakery Everything Nice, 113 Wagner Cafe shows how unexpected turns lead to extraordinary blessings.

A Home Born From Unexpected Beginnings

For Techie, 113 Wagner Cafe was never part of a grand plan. During the challenges of the pandemic, she faced the heartbreaking decision to downsize her bakery operations to protect her business.

She developed her garden to become a peaceful space, prompting her kids to ask: why not open this garden to others?

“We didn’t expect the pandemic to last that long,” she recounts. “It was like a sad moment that I had to decide to save Everything Nice as a company. Then after that, I was a plantita during the pandemic.”

Her newfound hobby in collecting plants became her way to bring her children home for visits. Partnering with garden stylist Kiko Villalba, she developed her garden to become a peaceful space, prompting her kids to ask: why not open this garden to others?

On July 9, 2021, Techie hosted her first guests along her porch. The response was immediate. By January 2022, the team added the iconic “cathedral roof,” surrounding it with lush foliage and curated decor. What began as a personal retreat quickly grew into a celebrated sanctuary for guests seeking comfort and connection.

The Dining Experience: Family-Style Warmth

The cafe offers four carefully curated set packages centered around family-style dining. “It’s like a feast that is prepared when there are celebrations at home,” she reasons.

While the cafe serves soup, dessert, and coffee or tea individually, 113 Wagner designed the main courses for sharing to encourage the spirit of a traditional holiday feast.

For those seeking nostalgic comfort, classics like their Roast Chicken offer delicious flavors inspired by traditional family recipes.

113 Wagner offers more than meals. Its lush greenery and serene environment create a multi-sensory experience. It has naturally evolved into a destination for major life milestones—having served as the backdrop for birthdays, 25th wedding anniversaries, and over 200 marriage proposals.

“We’re very much happy to be part of their lives,” she says. “It makes our work more meaningful and fulfilling, having all these celebrations in our home.”
