For one vibrant week in June, Baguio City became a lively crossroads of cultures, spirited conversations. And modern pageantry as delegates from across the globe gathered in the summer capital for the first-ever Mister Eco International competition.
Set amid pine-clad hills, fresh mountain breezes, and Baguio’s singular fusion of custom and innovation. The gathering became much more than a typical pageant. It embodied a new era in global competitions, where advocacy, sustainability, and intercultural exchange now gleam as vividly as style and stage presence.

A Historic Coronation Night
The week reached its grand finale on June 11 at the Cordillera International Convention Hall within the Baguio Country Club. Here, Egypt’s Yosef Ali claimed the first Mister Eco International title. His victory capped an odyssey that united delegates from every corner of the globe. Each bringing not just national pride but also heartfelt causes and community-focused advocacies.
From Capital Tempo to Highland Charm
The competition kicked off in bustling Manila before journeying north to Baguio, giving delegates a taste of two strikingly different faces of the Philippines. From the energetic tempo of the capital to the relaxed charm of the Cordillera highlands. The itinerary showcased the nation’s abundant landscapes and cultural panorama.
While Ali captured the inaugural crown, several delegates left a strong impression throughout the competition. France’s Lucas Prince secured the First Runner-Up spot. Meanwhile, the Philippines’ Kitt Cortez earned Second Runner-Up honors and the title of Mister Eco International Asia 2026. Italy’s Luigi Elia Fiore, India’s Nawang Dondup, and the Dominican Republic’s Alejandro Rodriguez rounded out the Top 6.

The Evolving Purpose of the Pageant Stage
Beyond the pursuit of crowns and rankings, the event highlighted the ongoing evolution of pageantry. Contestants are now called to champion causes that reach far outside the stage. From environmental protection and social impact to heritage pride and community action. The competition’s focus on sustainability echoed a global movement in pageants, where advocacy is now woven into the very texture of a titleholder’s journey.
Baguio City as Perfect Backdrop
The setting itself infused the week with a special magic. Baguio’s refreshing climate, creative energy, and rich native heritage invited delegates and guests to immerse themselves in one of the Philippines’ most energetic cultural hubs. Warm hospitality, breathtaking scenery, and the city’s eternal appeal became incorporated in every moment. Further cementing Baguio’s role as a premier stage for international gatherings.
Environmental mindfulness echoed throughout the week, with activities and collaborations spotlighting conservation and sustainable progress. These efforts paralleled the rising call for global events to spark real conversations. Revolving around caring for the planet and to inspire participants to become champions of change in their own communities.

A Legacy beyond the Title
As the first edition closed, the event established a legacy far richer than a simple list of victors. It redefined modern pageantry, demanding that purpose stand shoulder to shoulder with presentation. And also, celebrating advocacy just as much as achievement.
For the delegates, the journey offered a powerful platform to champion their nations and causes globally. For everyone gathered in Baguio, the experience proved that today’s pageants can ignite dialogue. And it can also drive cultural exchange, and nurture shared responsibility. Proving that the crown is just one chapter in a much greater narrative.
