Attending the 2026 National Food Fair offers more than a culinary experience—it provides direct access to the country’s most promising food enterprises and emerging trends. For consumers, it is an opportunity to support local industries while discovering innovative, high-quality Filipino products. For aspiring entrepreneurs and buyers, the event serves as a gateway to partnerships, insights, and market-ready ideas shaping the future of the food sector.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is set to stage the 2026 DTI–Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair (NFF) from April 8 to 12 at the SM Megamall Megatrade Halls. Featuring more than 320 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the event highlights businesses engaged in food manufacturing, processing, and allied industries. Positioned as the country’s premier platform for Filipino food products, the NFF continues to strengthen enterprise development while expanding market access across regions.

A Nationwide Showcase of Filipino Innovation

The fair will present a diverse array of regional specialties from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, reflecting both heritage and innovation in Filipino cuisine. Participating MSMEs will introduce new product concepts, refined processing techniques, and globally competitive offerings. Industry observers note that events like the NFF play a critical role in elevating local products to meet international standards, particularly as demand for authentic and sustainable food continues to grow.

A key highlight is the participation of former Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who have transitioned into entrepreneurship. Their businesses exemplify resilience and adaptability, demonstrating how skills acquired abroad can be transformed into viable, community-driven enterprises at home.

Strengthening Priority Sectors and Global Competitiveness

This year’s edition places a strong emphasis on the coconut industry, aligned with the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP). Exhibitors will showcase the versatility of coconut-based products—from food innovations to export-ready goods—underscoring the sector’s economic potential.

In parallel, a dedicated Halal segment will feature certified and Halal-ready products, reinforcing efforts to position the Philippines within the rapidly expanding global Halal market. Through improved compliance, certification, and product development, the initiative supports broader trade opportunities for Filipino MSMEs.

The DTI Business Connect Lounge will further enhance the event’s strategic value by facilitating business-to-business engagements. MSMEs will have the opportunity to connect with institutional buyers, distributors, and retailers, transforming conversations into supply agreements and long-term partnerships.

Industry Perspectives and Participant Feedback

Stakeholders have consistently recognized the National Food Fair as a catalyst for growth. “The National Food Fair is not just an exhibition—it is a platform where small businesses gain real market traction,” said a DTI program representative during a previous run of the event. “We have seen enterprises move from local distribution to national and even export markets because of the connections formed here.”

Exhibitors from past fairs have echoed this sentiment, noting increased brand visibility and sustained business inquiries following their participation. Buyers, meanwhile, value the curated selection of enterprises, which simplifies sourcing and ensures product quality.

Understanding the Value of This Week’s Fair

The National Food Fair is a direct link between producers and the public, offering access to authentic, locally made products while supporting Filipino livelihoods. It encourages informed consumption by highlighting the stories and processes behind each product. For businesses, it provides a rare convergence of exposure, networking, and commercial opportunity within a single venue.

Open to the public with free admission, the fair will include product sampling, live demonstrations, and interactive sessions. These experiences not only enrich consumer understanding but also foster appreciation for the craftsmanship and innovation driving the Filipino food industry.

In line with the Bagong Pilipinas agenda, the 2026 National Food Fair underscores the resilience, creativity, and global potential of Filipino MSMEs—positioning them at the forefront of economic growth and cultural representation.
