Join us for a special event: A Celebration with the Newsboys. This promises to be an unforgettable experience. This was truly a celebration with the Newsboys and everyone cherished these moments.

A simple gathering to honor the people who bring the news to our doorsteps.

The United Print and Multimedia Group (UPMG), together with the Circulation Management Association of the Philippines (CMAP), welcomed newsboys from across the metro for Hatid Balita, Hatid Saya. This was truly a gathering for a celebration with the Newsboys at The Philippine Star Building in Sucat, Parañaque.

It wasn’t a grand affair—just a warm, sincere gathering for the men and women whose daily work keeps the rhythm of print journalism alive. Long before the sun rises, they are already moving: collecting bundles, sorting routes. They deliver headlines that inform and connect communities. Their service is steady, quiet, and often overlooked. However, it is deeply felt.

Leading the celebration were Ms. Vivienne Motomal, UPMG President and Assistant Vice-President of the Journal Group of Publications; Mr. Roy Raul Mendiola, CMAP President and National Sales Manager of the Philippine Daily Inquirer; and Mr. Lucien C. Dy Tioco, Executive Vice-President of the Philstar Media Group. Their messages were consistent: gratitude for the newsboys’ commitment, respect for their perseverance. They also acknowledged that the industry’s mission—to deliver credible news—depends on them. Truly, this was a celebration with the Newsboys.

The program was simple and joyful. Familiar parlor games like Bring Me and Pinoy Trivia drew laughter and friendly banter. This really was a celebration, with the Newsboys’ spirits lifting as the games went on. The raffle, as expected, became the liveliest moment of the afternoon. Cheers erupted with every number called, and the room filled with a sense of shared excitement.

But the most meaningful detail was this: everyone went home with something. A small prize, a token of appreciation, a reminder that their work matters. No one was left out. No one was forgotten. Truly, a celebration with the Newsboys meant acknowledging each contribution.

Through Hatid Balita, Hatid Saya, UPMG, and CMAP reaffirmed something essential: a celebration with the Newsboys is a tribute to their invaluable role.

Behind every newspaper delivered is a person who has walked, pedaled, or traveled the distance. They ensure the news arrives. Honoring them—seeing them, thanking them—is part of honoring the service that keeps information moving from newsroom to community.

A simple celebration, but a deeply deserved one, truly encapsulated the essence of being with the Newsboys.
