When Jo Koy says “maaa!” on stage, the whole crowd knows what’s coming next. It’s not just a punchline—it’s a memory. One packed with balikbayan boxes, loud dinners, and a mom who tells you to bring a jacket even when it’s 35 degrees.
That’s Jo Koy’s magic. He doesn’t just tell jokes. He tells our story.
This June 21, he returns to Manila for the Jo Koy Just Being Koy Tour, live at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. For fans in the Philippines, it’s more than a night of laughs—it’s a homecoming years in the making.
From Coffee Shops to Sold-Out Arenas
Jo Koy started small. Open mic nights. Las Vegas coffee shops. Slowly, he turned family stories into sold-out shows around the world.
He’s now one of the highest-grossing stand-up comics globally, breaking records at venues like Madison Square Garden, Kia Forum, Tacoma Dome, and more.
In 2020, he made history as the first comedian to sell out the Mall of Asia Arena. This year, he’s back—and bigger than ever.
Laughing With Us, Not At Us
Koy’s comedy is rooted in real life: overbearing titas, guilt-tripping moms, and uncles who swear Vicks can cure anything.
What makes it work? It’s not exaggerated. It’s familiar.
“I never take for granted that I get to live out my dream on the stage every week—and this new tour is something special that I can’t wait to share with everyone,” says Jo Koy.
His newest Netflix special, Live From Brooklyn, dropped in June 2024. It hit Netflix’s Top 10 within a week and logged over 240 million minutes streamed. Not bad for a kid who used to make fun of his mom’s accent in the garage.
Championing Filipino Stories
Jo Koy isn’t just a comedian—he’s a cultural advocate.
He starred in Easter Sunday, the first major studio film with an all-Filipino cast. It was produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and based on Koy’s real life. After the premiere, Daly City gave him the Key to the City and declared July 22 Jo Koy Day.
He also voiced animated films like The Monkey King, Leo, and The Tiger’s Apprentice, and co-produced Nurse Unseen, a documentary on Filipino nurses during the pandemic.
Every project? A way to say: Filipinos belong in the spotlight.
Manila, We’re Ready

Jo Koy’s return to MOA Arena feels like a reunion. He’s not coming home to prove anything. He’s coming back to share how far we’ve all come. Join Jo Koy for his Just Being Tour in Manila, and experience laughter and cultural connections that resonate with fans everywhere.
Because when Jo Koy takes the stage, it’s not just stand-up—it’s shared experience.
