Young aspiring playwrights may now apply for the Virgin Labfest XX Writing Fellowship Program (VLF XX WFP) until 11 p.m. on April 30, 2025.

The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), through its Artist Training Division, is hosting the VLF XX WFP, a two-week mentorship program focused on the study and practice of dramatic writing for the stage.

The fellowship is open to applicants aged 18 to 29 who are either college students or young professionals. Applicants must not have previously been involved in or won any professional playwriting or screenwriting competitions and must be able to commit to full days throughout the program’s duration, including rehearsals and the culminating performance showcase. Selected Writing Fellows will be required to pay a minimal registration fee of P2,500.

Interested applicants should submit a completed application form, which can be downloaded at bit.ly/VLF20WFPFellowshipApplication, along with one to two samples of their stage plays (maximum 10 pages total) in PDF format, written in either Filipino or English. Submissions should be sent to ccp.vlfwfp@gmail.com with the subject line “VLF 20 WFP – <Surname>” by 11 p.m. on April 30.

The list of accepted applicants will be announced on May 20, 2025. Selected fellows will engage in a series of lectures, discussions, and workshops focused on playwriting and script critique. Additional perks include tickets to festival plays, opportunities to participate in talkbacks with notable playwrights and directors, and the chance to showcase their newly honed writing skills in the Virgin Labfest XX Writing Fellowship Program Showcase on June 29, 2025.

The fellowship will take place from June 17 to 29, 2025, in a hybrid format, with online sessions conducted via Zoom and in-person meetings at CCP. Full program details are available on the CCP Arts Education Program Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19DJNeZm5R/.

For inquiries, applicants may contact the CCP Artist Training Division at 8832-1125 ext. 1605 and ask for Ms. AJ Jara, or email ccp.vlfwfp@gmail.com.
