Simpol.ph, the top integrated media community in the Philippines and abroad, officially welcomes Prof. Jared P. Manalastas as one of its columnists.
Manalastas, whose “Vantage Point” column is published every Wednesday, holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in English language education from New Era University, both earned with academic distinctions. He is currently a candidate for a Doctor of Education degree, majoring in educational leadership at the National Teachers College in Manila. He has also completed coursework toward a Doctor of Philosophy degree in reading education at the Philippine Normal University.
An author, module writer, researcher, and radio host, Manalastas serves as the research director of Dalubhasaang Politekniko ng Lungsod ng Baliwag. He is also an associate professor at Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila and National University Baliwag. Actively engaged in academic discourse, he has attended and presented at national and international research conferences focused on teacher education.
In the field of journalism, he has served as a trainer, lecturer, and judge in division and regional schools press conferences. His contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including second place for Most Outstanding Secondary School Paper Adviser in 2017 from the Department of Education Region 3 – Central Luzon, the Outstanding Campus Paper Adviser of the Philippines award in 2018, the Global Leaders & Educators Award in the Innovation Category in 2021, and the INC Radio Best Male Host (Philippines) award in 2023.
Most recently, he passed the December 2024 Career Executive Service Written Examination (CESWE), administered by the Career Executive Service Board.
