The University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA) is reminding the UP community that the deadline for nominations for the prestigious UPAA Most Distinguished Alumni Awards is fast approaching.

All nominations must be submitted by Friday, April 4, 2025. This annual recognition honors UP alumni who have made significant contributions and achievements in their respective fields.

Each year, the UPAA recognizes outstanding alumni in five categories: Most Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award, Lifetime Distinguished Achievement Awards, Distinguished Alumni Awards, Distinguished Service Awards, and Multi-Generation U.P. Alumni Family Awards.

“The UPAA Awards shine a spotlight on alumni who embody the spirit of honor, excellence, and service, often working behind the scenes in ways that create lasting change,” said UPAA President and UP Alumni Regent Robert Aranton. “We encourage everyone to take part in this meaningful endeavor by nominating individuals whose outstanding contributions and dedication to service bring pride to our alma mater.”

The 2025 UPAA Distinguished Alumni Awards will be held at Ang Bahay ng Alumni on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 4 p.m. This year’s awardees will be honored for exemplifying the university’s ideals of honor, excellence, and service, with their remarkable accomplishments bringing distinction to the country’s first national university.

The 2025 University of the Philippines (UP) General Alumni Homecoming, hosted by UPAA, will carry the theme “Isang UP, Isang Komunidad: Pagbubuklod ng mga Kalayuan, Pagsulong sa Kinabukasan” (“One UP, One Community: Bridging Distances, Building Futures”). The reunion will take place on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Ang Bahay ng Alumni, located at Magsaysay Avenue, corner Balagtas Street, UP Diliman, Quezon City. This year’s event will highlight jubilarians from all UP campuses, including members of the 60th, 50th, 40th, and 25th jubilee classes: Class of 1965 (Diamond), Class of 1975 (Golden), Class of 1985 (Ruby), and Class of 2000 (Silver). Jubilarians will present performances that celebrate their student years across UP campuses.

Participants are encouraged to actively engage in the homecoming and contribute articles to the 2025 UP Alumni Homecoming Yearbook, commemorating the occasion. Jubilarians must submit passport-size photos (preferably in formal or semi-formal attire) to the UPAA for inclusion in the yearbook’s photo gallery. For emailed submissions, photos should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

UP alumni, past and present faculty members, students, family members, and friends are invited to place greetings, group photos, family portraits, and company advertisements in the yearbook. The deadline for submissions is May 30, 2025, though early submissions are highly encouraged.
