The international music industry has a new compass, and it points directly toward Southeast Asia. It won’t just be a celebration of cross-cultural sounds, it will be a proving ground for the region’s most export-ready talent. It is indeed a time of recognizing local talents that are worth international acknowledgment.

From Southeast Asian streets to international spotlights, AXEAN Festival 2026 sets the stage for a cross-cultural explosion of sound and flavor. Avenues of such provides a platform for the artists to be known and garner new support from a new set of audiences.

As these acts gear up to showcase the depth and diversity of modern Pinoy music to international festival programmers, AXEAN is proving that the future of the global beat is being forged right here.

Echoes of the Archipelago: The Filipino Contingent

Fast-rising Filipino musical acts ALYSON, PLAYERTWO, and Novocrane are gearing up to represent the Philippines on the international stage. Specifically, the artists have secured coveted performance spots at the AXEAN Festival 2026, Southeast Asia’s premier music showcase and conference platform. This year, the event will take over the Jimbaran Hub in Bali, Indonesia, from August 29 to 30, 2026.

To make this happen, festival organizers partnered with official Philippine co-founder The Rest Is Noise PH to handpick these emerging talents. Consequently, as part of the festival’s first lineup phase, the musicians will perform for a diverse audience of international music industry delegates, festival programmers, and global music enthusiasts.

Looking at the bigger picture, MC Galang, co-founder of both the AXEAN Festival and The Rest Is Noise PH, notes that the inclusion of these artists signifies something much larger than individual success. According to Galang, their presence ultimately highlights the immense depth, diversity, and international readiness of the modern Filipino music community.

As co-founders of both AXEAN Festival and The Rest Is Noise PH, it’s especially meaningful for us to continue creating opportunities that connect Filipino artists with international audiences, industry professionals, and new markets,” Galang says.

Over the years, our work has been centered on building bridges between Southeast Asia and the rest of the world, and seeing more Filipino artists take their place on global stages is a reminder of why that work matters.” he added.

Furthermore, Galang explains that this international push is a natural extension of the long-term commitment The Rest Is Noise PH has maintained toward exporting local music and developing global opportunities.

Earlier this year, The Rest Is Noise PH expanded this mission through the launch of our music consultancy and management arm, beginning with AXEAN Festival 2025 alumni ONE CLICK STRAIGHT for global management representation and bookings,” Galang elaborates.

We’re excited for what lies ahead—not just for these artists, but also for the next generation of Filipino musicians ready to connect with the world.”

A Convergence of Regional and Global Sounds

The first wave of artists prominently features a strong selection of Indonesian musicians, thereby showcasing the rich variety of the host country’s music scene. Specifically, the initial Indonesian roster highlights high-profile singer-songwriter Ndarboy Genk, experimental quartet Basajan, Yogyakarta-based band LOR, Tropical Dessert trio Babon, Jakarta alternative rock outfit Satu Per Empat, rising singer-songwriter Jo Soegono, jazz-rock trio Emptyyy, and R&B/soul performer Noni.

Expanding beyond the host country, the festival also brings together a potent mix of established and rising talent from across Southeast Asia and the globe. For instance, Malaysia brings indie-pop group Masdo, alternative rock veterans Pitahati, and the boundary-pushing act Lil Asian Thiccie x dj magn3sium. Similarly, Singapore sends a powerful contingent featuring acclaimed indie rock group Subsonic Eye and experimental collective sub:shaman. Meanwhile, Thailand’s independent music scene will make a major impact with performances by Yellow Fang, INSPIRATIVE, SLOWWVES, and Cupnoodle. Furthermore, the band Scamper from Macau and the act Treaks from France emphasize the festival’s expanding international reach.

Reflecting on this diverse lineup, festival co-founder Piyapong Muenprasertdee shed light on the selection philosophy, explaining that the team hunts for specific artistic traits while prioritizing regional inclusivity.

Professionalism, live performance excellence, and a clear artistic vision genuinely drive most of our selections—those are the qualities we’re looking for first,” Muenprasertdee shares.

Alongside the most polished, export-ready acts, we make room for artists from locales the wider industry rarely hears from,” he added.

Co-founder David Siow echoes these sentiments, promising that the 2026 iteration will deliver a highly potent, internationally viable lineup.

For audiences, our curation of artists has been geared towards artists with great live sets and who are ripe for export,” Siow emphasizes.

You can see artists who are about to blow up, artists who will blow your minds, and artists whose future moves will blow you away,” he added.

Beyond the Stage: Songwriting and Street Food

Driven by a core mission of community-building and creative innovation, AXEAN Festival 2026 introduces several fresh programming components designed to deepen connections among artists, industry delegates, corporate partners, and festival attendees.

Chief among these initiatives is the highly praised Songwriting Camp, an artist-development cornerstone first introduced in 2024. In light of its return, Siow explains how the camp has evolved into a relaxed hub for pure artistic collaboration.

The songwriting camp introduced in 2024 was also born out of our drive to do things right for artists; hence, when we designed the camp, it was something that was only meant for collaborations,” Siow states.

We take pride in creating a relaxed and casual environment that fosters creativity and friendships, as we believe the atmosphere contributes to the high quality of the final song output,” he added.

Alongside the auditory experiences, the festival is launching an immersive culinary concept modeled after Southeast Asia’s legendary open-air hawker centers and food courts. This initiative aims to blend diverse regional dishes and culinary customs, allowing guests to experience Southeast Asian cultural heritage through food.

Muenprasertdee believes that food serves as the ultimate social catalyst for festival-goers.

Few things represent Southeast Asian culture better than its food, so we’re curating regional vendors into the festival canteen,” Muenprasertdee adds.

There’s a saying that the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach. I personally think, and have seen, that people connect more genuinely over food and drinks, so we’d rather create the conditions for that than over-program things.” he added.

Beyond live musical showcases and culinary features, the event drives regional music industry growth by offering extensive professional development programming. The schedule packs in industry panel discussions, business-to-business matchmaking opportunities, and organized networking events.

Music fans and industry professionals can now grab early bird tickets through the official ticketing portal at www.loket.com/o/axeanfestival. Organizers will share subsequent artist lineups, conference speaker schedules, and detailed programming updates over the coming weeks.
