Callback, a newly launched digital casting platform, will hold its first intensive workshop, “Acting as a Career: Audition Fundamentals,” on May 10 at Ateneo de Manila University.
The workshop, scheduled from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., is open to aspiring actors of all ages and schools. It is organized in partnership with the Ateneo Fine Arts Department and will be facilitated by Sheenly Gener, a Berlinale Talents alumna and QCinema 2017 Best Supporting Actress.
Gener, a respected acting coach known for her instinct-driven mentoring style, will lead participants through an intensive session covering audition techniques, on-camera performance fundamentals, and industry best practices. The program will also introduce attendees to the Actor’s Toolkit by Callback, which includes guidance on professional headshots, resumes, and set cards. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
The standard registration fee is P1,499, but those with a complete Callback profile will pay a discounted rate of P999. Creating a profile on Callback is free.
Launched in August 2024, Callback positions itself as Asia’s first digital casting platform, offering actors and filmmakers a safer, faster, and more inclusive way to connect. Designed similarly to LinkedIn but tailored for the entertainment industry, the platform allows talents to build profiles, apply to verified casting calls, and access job opportunities. It also features security tools to ensure a safer environment for both actors and casting directors.
The workshop coincides with the Ateneo Fine Arts Festival, which runs from May 2 to May 10. The festival will feature workshops, exhibits, a staged reading, and other events showcasing the department’s work.
Callback is a recipient of the Quezon City Government’s Startup QC program award and was featured in Cannes Next at the Cannes Film Festival. It is supported by the Film Academy of the Philippines, the Quezon City Film Commission, and Launch Garage.
