UNIQLO highlighted the versatility and performance features of its latest Sport Utility Wear collection during a pickleball event on April 4 at the MET Sports Center in Pasay City.
Local celebrities and athletes, including volleyball star Kianna Dy and actor Enchong Dee, participated in the matches to demonstrate the collection’s functionality. Both athletes wore pieces from the new lineup while playing pickleball, one of the country’s fastest-growing sports.
“At UNIQLO, we prioritize bringing better design, functionality, and comfort into our lives,” said Geraldine Sia, chief operating officer of the brand’s Philippine division. “Sport Utility Wear is not just for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. It’s also the perfect everyday wear for those who are always on the go, because we need clothes that allow us to move around and stay fresh at any time of the day.”
Designed for both athletic activities and daily wear, the collection emphasizes four key features: UV protection, stretchability, sweat-wicking technology, and comfort.

The UV Protection line offers UPF 50+, the highest rating for sun protection in clothing. The fabric is engineered to block more than 90% of harmful UV-A and UV-B rays, making it suitable for outdoor sports and daily commutes. Featured items include the Women’s AIRism UV Protection Full-Zip Hoodie and the DRY-EX UV Protection Full-Zip Hoodie.
The line also highlights its Ultra Stretch material, which provides multidirectional flexibility for ease of movement. During the event, participants tested this feature with quick movements across the court. Key pieces include the Ultra Stretch Active Shorts, the Women’s Ultra Stretch Active Skort, and the Ultra Stretch Active Jogger Pants.
To combat heat and humidity, the collection incorporates DRY-EX technology, designed to rapidly absorb and disperse sweat for a consistently dry feel. Items such as the DRY-EX T-shirt and DRY-EX Polo Shirt were put to the test during the matches, keeping participants comfortable despite the warm conditions.
The collection also features the brand’s signature AIRism fabric, which offers a smooth, breathable, and stretchy experience. Products such as the Women’s AIRism Soft Cropped T-shirt, the Women’s AIRism Bra Sleeveless Top, and the Women’s AIRism Soft Ribbed Flare Leggings were showcased during the event.
