Cebu is coming to Makati for one weekend, bringing its beloved dishes and culinary traditions to the capital. On October 24 and 25, 2026, HIKAY: A Cebu Heritage Food Festival will take place at The Glasshouse, New World Makati Hotel.

Curated by Chef Reggie Aspiras, the festival brings together Chef Coke Semblante of Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown and food historian Louella E. Alix. Together, they celebrate Cebuano cuisine through traditional dishes and heirloom recipes. The event also marks the launch of Alix’s books, Hikay: The Culinary Heritage of Cebu (2nd Edition) and Tam-is: Heirloom Delicacies of Cebu.
A Saturday Feast of Cebuano Classics
On Saturday, October 24, guests can enjoy Lechon Talisay, Lechon de Cebu, and Humba de Ronda at the lunch buffet. Meanwhile, desserts featured in Hikay complete the spread, highlighting the culinary stories Alix has documented over the years.
From Cebu’s celebrated roasted pork to the comforting flavors of traditional home cooking, the menu offers a taste of the province’s rich food culture.
Sunday’s Heirloom Favorites

The feast continues on Sunday, October 25, with another selection of Cebuano specialties. These include Lechon Carcar, Tuslob Buwa, Balbacua, and a pungko-pungko basket. In addition, desserts from Tam-is: Heirloom Delicacies of Cebu round out the menu.
On both days, guests can also enjoy chicharon fried fresh at a live station. This offers a chance to savor the crunchy Filipino favorite straight from the fryer.
Learn from the Kitchen
Beyond the buffet, guests can join a cooking class starting at 3 PM on either day. Through this session, participants can explore Cebuano cooking and learn more about the traditions behind regional Filipino dishes.

Preserving Filipino Culinary Heritage
Philippine Heritage Kitchen, founded and curated by Chef Reggie Aspiras, presents the festival in partnership with CCA Manila, New World Makati Hotel, and Cebu Pacific Air.
Ultimately, the festival celebrates Filipino culinary heritage by bringing regional dishes and their stories to a wider audience. For food lovers, it is an opportunity to discover Cebu’s flavors while learning about the traditions that keep them alive.
