Coming Of Age And Familial Ties
Grade-schooler Apolinario “Apol” Medina Jr. is completely smitten with his music teacher, Ma’am Ai. However, trouble begins when his single father, Tatay Poli, enters the picture. The father and son run a vintage surplus shop together in Quiapo. Furthermore, they share a very close bond.
Yet, Apol soon notices romantic sparks flying between his dad and Ma’am Ai. As a result, his innocent childhood crush turns into a tricky coming-of-age dilemma.
Stellar Talent and Musical Tradition
Rising young actor Zion Cruz takes center stage as Apol. Additionally, he reunites with director Thop Nazareno for this major big-screen role.
Cruz delivers a strong performance alongside Zanjoe Marudo as his devoted father. Meanwhile, former SexBomb star Rochelle Pangilinan plays the warm-hearted Teacher Ai.
Through the rich tradition of kundiman music, Apol finds his voice. Consequently, he learns that growing up means accepting hard choices.
Festival Screening and Ticket Details
The film is one of seven full-length entries at the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival.
Moviegoers can catch screenings from September 23 to October 4 across major Metro Manila theaters. For instance, venues include Gateway Cineplex 18 and TriNoma. Regular tickets cost ₱250, while students and seniors pay a discounted rate of ₱200. Besides individual tickets, cinema lovers can buy a ₱2,000 festival pass for full access to all entries.
