Asia Society Philippines officially launched Asian Eats 2026, its flagship culinary festival, at the Grand Atrium of Shangri-La Plaza. Running through August 9, the three-day event gathers diplomatic missions, cultural institutions, local businesses, and food enthusiasts under one roof to celebrate the vibrant flavors, traditions, and diverse cultures of Asia.
Positioned as Asia Society Philippines’ premier initiative in culinary diplomacy, the festival highlights food as a living expression of heritage, identity, and community. By offering immersive culinary experiences, Asian Eats aims to deepen regional appreciation, build cultural understanding, and open avenues for meaningful exchange across borders.

The Power of Culinary Diplomacy
Emphasizing the deeper significance of the gathering, Doris Magsaysay Ho, Chairperson of Asia Society Philippines, reflected on the unifying nature of food.
At Asia Society Philippines, we believe that food is far more than sustenance. It is a powerful expression of history, identity, and culture. It has the unique ability to transcend borders, foster understanding, and create meaningful connections among people.” Ho noted.
Through this festival, we invite everyone to experience Asia not only through its cuisines but also through the cultural traditions and shared values that unite our diverse communities.” she added.
Distinguished guests joined Chairperson Magsaysay Ho for the opening ceremony, including Asia Society Philippines Co-Vice Chairperson Fernando Zobel de Ayala and Center Head and Managing Director Natalie Christine Jorge. Also in attendance were Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Administration Ma. Theresa Dizon-De Vega, along with ambassadors, embassy representatives, festival partners, and members of the diplomatic corps.

Honoring ASEAN and Global Flavors
A central highlight of Asian Eats 2026 is the ASEAN Showcase, which honors the distinct culinary identities and shared cultural roots of Southeast Asia. Organized in recognition of the Philippines’ hosting of the ASEAN Summit, this special feature uses food and culture to strengthen regional cooperation, enhance people-to-people connectivity, and celebrate the ties that bind member nations.
In addition to Southeast Asian offerings, festivalgoers can sample authentic dishes and specialty items from a wide array of participating nations and their partner merchants, including Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Interactive Demonstrations and Cultural Performances
Beyond the vendor stalls, attendees can observe a series of live cooking demonstrations led by master chefs and culinary partners. The lineup of featured presenters includes Chef LV Wei representing the Embassy of China, Chef Surat Rana representing Indian Women in Enterprise, Chef Donna Marie Morales representing Coco Mama, Chef Bruce Lim representing Kikkoman, and Chef Gerick Manalo representing NutriAsia.
Each session highlights unique regional ingredients, techniques, and culinary heritage. Furthermore, participating embassies will present live cultural performances throughout the event, showcasing the music, dance, and artistic traditions of their respective countries to deliver a fully immersive cultural experience.
Event Details and Support
The festival is supported by key corporate and brand partners, including Kikkoman, Century Pacific Food, Inc. (through its Coco Mama brand), NutriAsia, GCash, and Highlands Coffee.
