The Godfather of Filipino comedy comes home. On December 13, Rex Navarrete—one of the first Filipino stand-up comics to break through the U.S. mainstream—performs at Quezon Club in Solaire Resort North for a one-night-only show that brings Filipino humor, identity, and sharp cultural insight to center stage.

A Pioneer Comes Full Circle
Navarrete built his career in the United States at a time when few Asian Americans held space in comedy clubs. He created that space with fearless Pinoy storytelling—teachers with thick accents, hardworking immigrants, and everyday moments that felt painfully familiar and deeply funny.
Filipino families traded his CDs like heirlooms. His sketches went viral before “viral” existed. He became the voice many Filipino Americans didn’t know they needed—someone who sounded like home even when they were thousands of miles away.
This December, he steps back into the Manila spotlight.
An Evening Made for Laughter
Quezon Club sets the energy early. Smooth jazz, dynamic dance sets, and DJs open the night at 7:00 PM. At 9:00 PM, Navarrete takes the stage with a new set filled with his signature wit and cultural honesty. His humor stays sharp, but his observations feel even more grounded today—proof that the Filipino experience continues to evolve, yet remains unmistakably shared.
Guests can enjoy signature dishes and crafted drinks, turning the night into a full experience: good food, good company, and a rare chance to see a modern comedy icon up close.
A Rare Homecoming
Navarrete’s Manila return marks an important full-circle moment in Filipino entertainment. He paved the way for many Filipino comedians and creators who now thrive onstage and online. This Quezon Club show offers audiences a chance to witness a pioneer reclaim his roots—live, unfiltered, and at the height of his craft.
