The first time we stayed at Radisson Blu Cebu, it wasn’t for a celebration or a holiday. It was in the aftermath of Typhoon Tino — a night when the city felt fragile, and people were still counting losses in silence. Streets were flooded, trees were down, and the air carried the lingering tension of a storm that had passed but not yet loosened its grip.
Inside the hotel, the mood was different. Warm lighting. Soft voices. A welcome that didn’t try to distract from reality, but softened it.
The next morning, we had breakfast at the Executive Lounge overlooking the port. Outside, the city was still drying — puddles collecting between curbs, broken branches scattered across sidewalks. But inside, there was brewed coffee, fresh fruit, and a familiar Cebu practice: quiet grace.
Someone later mentioned that the Christmas tree lighting ceremony scheduled for that weekend had been postponed. Not canceled — just paused.
“It didn’t feel right to celebrate while the city was rebuilding,” a staff member said.
That small act — unannounced, unadvertised — revealed the hotel’s instinct: timing matters, tone matters, empathy matters.

A Place That Grew With Cebu
When Radisson Blu Cebu opened in 2010, the city was changing fast. The skyline was rising, businesses were expanding, and Cebu was beginning its transformation into a regional destination. The hotel didn’t simply arrive in that momentum — it helped shape it.
In 2017, during the ASEAN Summit, its corridors held the hum of diplomacy: translators moving room to room, journalists gathered with cups of hotel coffee, and delegates reviewing statements before stepping into international interviews.
On other days, the feeling is softer. During the annual Something Blu Bridal Fair, couples walk the hallways imagining aisle runners, floral arches, and receptions filled with laughter. Some later return with children, pointing to corners of the lobby and saying, “This is where it began.”
And then there are the everyday visits: reunions after long-haul flights, birthdays celebrated with a small cake, the first dinner out after lockdown, or simply a quiet morning spent watching ferries move across the channel.
Hotels don’t mean something because they are large or new — they matter when they hold people’s moments.

Recognition Built on Consistency
In industry circles, Radisson Blu Cebu has earned a reputation for something rare: reliability.
Twice, the Radisson Hotel Group awarded it Hotel of the Year in Asia Pacific, recognizing excellence across guest experience, operations, and leadership. In 2023 and again in 2024, the hotel received the Operational Excellence Award— not for a single initiative, but for the discipline of doing things right, day in and day out.
Travelers see it too. In Travel + Leisure Asia’s Top 10 Best City Hotels in the Philippines for 2024, Radisson Blu Cebu earned its place through real stays and lived experiences.
Awards signal capability.
But the memories guests bring home — those confirm meaning.
Hospitality, Expanded
Not all of Radisson Blu Cebu’s work is visible in the lobby.
Through its partnership with the Cebu City Jail Women’s Dormitory, the hotel offers a program called Skills Behind Walls — an initiative that teaches real hospitality standards and practical training to women deprived of liberty.
It’s not charity. It’s preparation.
One trainee described it simply:
“Learning reminds me there is something ahead — not just what is behind.”
Here, hospitality extends beyond comfort — into dignity, reintegration, and the belief that people deserve more than a second chance: they deserve a future.

A Crystal Milestone
Fifteen years is traditionally marked with crystal — clarity, resilience, and refined strength. For its anniversary, Radisson Blu Cebu chose the theme Shining Through, a phrase that feels earned after a decade and a half of serving residents, travelers, families, and leaders.
To commemorate the milestone, the hotel will host a Crystal Gala Dinner and Christmas Concert, directed by maestro Nestor Jardin and featuring tenor Arman Ferrer, soprano Sheila Valderrama, the Cebu Normal University Chorale, Alice Reyes Dance Philippines, and the Cebu Philharmonic Orchestra.
Not just a celebration — a thank you.

Still Here, Still Shining
Fifteen years is long enough for a place to become more than an address. Over time, Radisson Blu Cebu has become a familiar point in Cebu’s emotional landscape — a marker not just of location, but of memory.
It has been there after storms, when the city needed calm. It has been there after conferences and long meetings, offering quiet and rest. It has held weddings, reunions, first trips, last trips, and everything ordinary in between.
Cities evolve. Skylines change. People move, return, and begin again.
Yet here is Radisson Blu Cebu — steady in its welcome, consistent in its intention, warm in its service.
Still steady.
Still warm.
Still here — shining through.
