The LTB Philippines Chefs Association has elected a new board of trustees for 2025–2026. The unanimous vote shows strong confidence in the new officers. It also reaffirms a mission that has guided Filipino culinary life for nearly 40 years: nurture talent, raise standards, and build fellowship in the kitchen.

Passing the Torch
Since 1986, LTB has been more than a guild. It has served as a fellowship where chefs share skills, mentor the next generation, and push the profession forward. While part of the global Les Toques Blanches network, its identity remains distinctly Filipino.
Now, this mission matters more than ever. Filipino chefs compete on global stages. They win medals, run kitchens abroad, and shape how the world tastes our food. The Philippine Culinary Cup, organized by LTB, has become a launchpad for many. At the same time, the LTB Culinary Scholarship Program has trained over 200 provincial teachers, multiplying its reach in classrooms across the country.
Outgoing President’s Reflection
In his farewell, Jerome Valencia reminded members that leadership in LTB is about stewardship, not spotlight:
“Together, we’ll continue to drive culinary innovation and excellence. Looking forward to our future endeavors!”

Meet the New Officers
Chef José Armando “JA” Ventura – President
Ventura, Corporate Chef at Epicurean Chocfull Ventures Corporation, is admired for collaborative leadership. As former Vice President and Director for Social Responsibilities, he has lived out LTB’s values of service and mentorship. His presidency signals continuity and sharper outreach — ensuring Filipino chefs succeed both locally and abroad.
In his first message, Ventura said: “Over the years, LTB has worked to bring the Filipino chef to the forefront of the world stage while uplifting our food industry and society. With programs from scholarships and competitions to training and community work — and with the support of our members and partners — we look forward to new milestones ahead.”
Chef Margarita Marty – Vice President
Marty is Program Chair for Culinary Arts at De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde and LTB’s Director for Memberships. She connects classrooms with professional kitchens, strengthening the pipeline of Filipino culinary talent.
Chef Fernando Aracama – Secretary General
Aracama is a respected restaurateur and consultant. As Partner at The Palace Manila and The Tides Hotel Boracay, he has helped shape Manila’s dining scene. His work highlights Filipino flavors while meeting world-class standards.
Chef J. Jose Leonardo “J” Gamboa Jr. – Treasurer
Gamboa is Executive Chef of Cirkulo, AzuThai, MilkyWay Café, and Tsukiji. He also serves as LTB’s Director for Education. Known for balance and consistency, he manages the guild’s resources with the same care that defines his family’s restaurant legacy.
Chef Cherrie Uy-Tan – Advisor for the Philippine Young Chefs Club
Uy-Tan mentors hundreds of young chefs through the Philippine Young Chefs Club (PYCC). She ensures the next generation stays rooted in Filipino pride while gaining global exposure.
Together, these leaders represent the full spectrum of Philippine culinary life — from schools to restaurants, from mentorship to international competitions.
Looking Ahead
With Ventura at the helm, LTB steps into its next chapter. From competitions to scholarships, from industry partnerships to youth advocacy, the guild commits to keeping Filipino chefs competitive and connected to their heritage.
“Leadership may change, but the flame remains the same.”
Today, as Filipino cuisine shines on the world stage, this continuity matters. Every kare-kare plated abroad, every teacher trained in the provinces, every medal won — these trace back to foundations LTB has built for decades.
Leadership may shift. But the vision endures: raise Filipino cuisine to global heights while honoring the kitchens and communities that keep it alive.
