On a Sunday morning in San Juan, a mother pauses at the seafood counter, scanning for the freshest salmon fillet. It’s a small ritual she’s repeated for years—one that began when her children were young enough to call shrimp “mermaid meat.” The labels have changed, prices have shifted, but one name has stayed the same: Cold Storage Seafood.

The launch of the Cold Storage Seafood Membership Card brought together food, family, and familiar faces in celebration of nearly three decades of trusted freshness. Long before online groceries and imported seafood brands, Cold Storage was already doing the quiet work of keeping fish, shrimp, and shellfish fresh for Filipino homes. Founded in 1996, it became a trusted companion in the country’s evolving kitchens—a reminder that quality and care could come frozen, not faded.

Now, nearly three decades later, Cold Storage is returning that loyalty with a gesture just as personal: the Cold Storage Seafood Membership Card—a thank-you to the customers who have made the brand part of their every week, every recipe, and every celebration.

“It’s not just a discount program,” says Marco Qua, President of Cold Storage Seafood. “It’s our way of recognizing the families and cooks who’ve trusted us for decades. This is a small gesture to remind them that we see them—and we’re grateful.”

When Consistency Becomes a Comfort

Trust is easy to promise and hard to earn. Yet for almost thirty years, Cold Storage has done both—one pack, one household, one meal at a time.

Under Sikat Araw Trading Corporation, the company began as a small supplier for restaurants and hotels. At a time when freshness meant a pre-dawn trip to the wet market, Cold Storage introduced modern freezing methods that preserved seafood at its peak—keeping flavor, texture, and integrity intact.

That same attention to craft built its next chapter: LOKAL, a line launched in 2020 that sources export-grade seafood from Filipino fishermen across the archipelago. LOKAL turned the supply chain into a shared livelihood—connecting local producers to everyday consumers while keeping prices fair and quality high.

In an age of short-lived trends, Cold Storage has endured by keeping a single promise: freshness with integrity.

Loyalty, Reimagined

The new Cold Storage Seafood Membership Card isn’t a marketing gimmick—it’s an act of reciprocity. A way of saying: you’ve welcomed us into your kitchens; now we’d like to give something back.

Members receive:

  • A Welcome Sushi Platter upon registration—because every relationship begins with a shared meal.

  • A 10% discount on purchases all year round.

  • A Birthday Sushi Platter—a thoughtful gesture for small celebrations.

  • Early access to product launches and exclusive promos.

  • Invitations to private tastings and events.

  • And a priority lane during the holiday rush, when family feasts take center stage.

“Every perk was designed to make the experience easier and warmer,” Qua explains. “It’s about recognizing the trust people place in us, especially those who’ve been shopping with us for years.”

Cocktails and sushi took center stage at the launch—each one made with premium seafood from Cold Storage, celebrating freshness, flavor, and nearly three decades of trusted quality.

Why It Matters

For many Filipino shoppers, loyalty cards have lost meaning—too many points, too many terms, too little sincerity. The Cold Storage Seafood Membership Card cuts through that noise. It reminds consumers that gratitude can still feel human, and that loyalty still deserves recognition.

“Cold Storage has always been about people—our staff, our fishermen, our customers,” says Qua. “This membership is our way of keeping that connection alive.”

To mark the launch, Cold Storage is offering an exclusive raffle for members, with an all-expenses-paid trip to Japan—the global home of sushi and seafood mastery. It’s a fitting tribute to where the brand’s inspiration began and where its commitment to quality continues to evolve.

A symbol of loyalty and connection: the Cold Storage Seafood Membership Card celebrates the everyday customers who’ve trusted the brand since 1996.

How to Join

Customers can get the membership card for free with every ₱5,000 worth of purchases, whether single or accumulated receipts. Registration is open at the Wilson (San Juan) and Banawe (Quezon City) branches, with expansion plans already underway. Members receive their Welcome Sushi Platter and instant access to all benefits.

The Quiet Power of Gratitude

Nearly thirty years on, Cold Storage Seafood remains what it has always been: a bridge between sea and table, livelihood and family, promise and trust.

In an age where attention is fleeting and loyalty is rare, Cold Storage’s gesture feels quietly radical. It doesn’t shout. It simply thanks.

Because at the Filipino table, it’s never just about what’s served—it’s about who remembers to care.
