Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts is currently celebrating their humble milestone with its Sampaguita advocacy, proving that modern travel can go hand-in-hand with deep social responsibility. Moving forward, the hotel group is successfully reshaping how guests experience Filipino culture and community care.
Rooted in Culture and Connection
Three years on, Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts celebrates how mindful travelers and communities are bringing Filipino hospitality beyond hotel walls.

Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts (MGHR) is fortifying its efforts to make social responsibility an integral part of its hospitality commitment, creating more opportunities for travelers to support local communities, celebrate Filipino culture and contribute to meaningful causes throughout their stays.

Furthermore, as MGHR marks the third anniversary of its Sampaguita advocacy, the hotel group recognizes the growing community of guests, volunteers and partners helping restore the national flower’s cultural relevance and sustain its presence for future generations.
As Managing Director Socrates “Sonny” Alvaro aptly noted,
Travelers are becoming more conscious of what their choices support, and hospitality must respond. For us, mindful travel is no longer optional. We want every guest, in every hotel, to have the opportunity to participate in something meaningful. Sustainability must become a standard mindset across how we conceptualize and execute our operations, not simply an occasional activity. Our responsibility is to make it easier for people to care and act on that concern.”
Growing a Nationwide Movement
Building on this vision, the initiative has seen remarkable engagement across the country over the past three years. Consequently, the Sampaguita Room Package has generated thousands of room nights, reflecting a strong surge in culturally inspired stays.

In addition to hospitality initiatives, more than 40 planting activities have successfully mobilized hundreds of volunteers. From Boracay and Cebu to Iloilo, Cavite, Batangas, Bulacan, and Laguna, these collaborative efforts have proudly helped plant over 7,000 Sampaguita seedlings alongside valued partners such as the University of the Philippines Asian Institute of Tourism and the Rotary Club of Biñan.
Project PEARLS
Ultimately, these combined efforts have laid the groundwork for lasting community impact, including the creation of a dedicated Sampaguita Park in Laguna and thousands of meals provided through Project PEARLS.

Therefore, as the advocacy enters its fourth year, MGHR continues to invite everyone to take part in this meaningful journey. Ultimately, because a hotel stay may last only a few nights, the good it inspires can truly continue long after checkout.
